I did a pre-order for Persona 5 that had the promotion on its product page, so it seems it doesn't have to be a physical item you will get right away either. I haven't checked for a code yet, but it seems it can take up to 2 days for the code...

Anyone able to get it eariler?

Are you sure pre - order work? If it does, people can just Pre - Order to get the code, then just Cancel the Pre - Order?

That is the way these promotions have always worked. I spoke to Amazon once about it and even though the potential for abuse is there only very few people actually do this. Its not worth it for them to pursue people who do since a code can't be reclaimed once used and they have no feasible way of tracking them.

Sadly, I can not say for sure if it works. All I know is that the message with the six exclusive items is listed on its promotions. I mean, this is the time to buy games at the moment too xD

I suppose I will know in a few days, but just throwing out what info I see since there really isn't much to go by....by SE or from Amazon...

Looks like the price went down before you bought it so you'd have to buy something else with it in order to get the promo codes. I hope I'm wrong and you get the codes though. Bit of a slimy move on their part.

Does it actually have to be shipped before getting the code? What if I pre-order a game that doesn't come out until after the promo ends but I still get confirmation that the xiv promo is eligible? Will they send me the codes right away or do I have to wait until the game ships months from now?

I just pre-ordered Mighty no 9 and pretty much had my codes instantly despite it being a preorder.

It does but I guess that's the way it is. I went and put a pre-order in on Final Fantasy XII: Zodiac Age and got the codes right away.
