Cheerleaders

Because nothing exists in a vaccum. I feel like asking what are Cheerleaders doing in Eorzea. They seem to be a bit more modern than that (though same could be said for Allag and Mhach and look what happened to them :P).

XD Maybe they're a prelude to announcing blitzball coming to Eorzea? Considering the options for this expansion were apparently 'flying' or 'swimming', I wouldn't be surprised if they went with 'swimming' for the next one, and how could you have swimming in an FF without blitzball XD?

I think the concept of cheerleaders are there but actual cheerleaders are not. It says in the text of the wind up cheerleader that they were created for use in the wolves den.
Basically they gave a lore reason for all cheering you hear in The Feast. Its not actual people cheering but dozens of these wind up cheerleaders that the Maelstrom created.

They even explained the Culling Time, its basically these wind up cheerleaders defecting and acting like Limsa Pirates booing.
