Spell speed/skill speed VS Det

isnt there a CAP for spell/skill speed? but doesnt DET is much better? seem u do more dmg with DET

DET is better than SkS/SpS for nearly all jobs but BLM I think. for BLM it's SpS>Crit>Det. Some BRD's think that SkS/DET but that's subjective.
Also it's technically impossible to cap SkS/SpS. We simply don't get enough of it on gear to meet any cap.

You can't achieve the cap for it (iirc 1.5s recast for gcd skills without modification) with current gear, but it's not a good idea to even approach it.

My fc recommended Sp> det for BRD/mnk/blm/mch but i am not too sure because i feel like DET is still better for them.

A BLM with a shit ton of spellspeed will ne a single target destroyer
However going for aoe... it Will be harder because you will cast back Fire III faster than your mp tick regen

Si less spellspeed = good aoe
Alors of spellspeed = good single target

Either way is fine if you know how to dance with your mana tick

And Deter is the least favorite stat for blackmage
Since both spellspeed and crit are king

Speed isn't a bad stat as long as it doesn't misalign everything in your rotation, it does comes with the downside of additional resource drain(TP). BLM is the odd one in the bunch because they have unlimited resources (MP), so speed is absolutely broken for them.

You sure need a certain amount fo SS for Monk but if you have to much you get rekt because you burn your TP way to fast.

For BLMs, spellspeed is undisputed king since they never run out of MP and thus the faster they do everything, the more damage they do. It's also pretty good (but not better than crit) for BRD with WM on since they don't auto-attack and thus benefit more from simply doing things faster. Other than that, it's a pretty crap stat once you have "enough" of it - WARs want to be able to do 9 GCD Berserks, DRGs want ~2.4 second GCDs, etc.

For most classes DET > SkS for individual points but at certain thresholds 10 points of SkS can be vastly superior to any other stat mostly due to getting in another attack during a buff, ie BfB, IR, Berserk. There's also a reverse effect on SkS where putting points into it could be worth really low due to messing up rotations/clipping dots.
