    1.20 Reform~ CNJ future

So for all those who haven't seen~

    http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/30501?p=441509#post441509

Overall looking forward to it. I trust the current team and if this is the direction they're taking it I'll give them that trust.

Some big things that I personally got goggly eye'd about:

All traits will be made class-exclusive.
Adjustments will be made so that certain actions will only unleash their full potential when paired with traits belonging to the same class.
Hopefully we'll see more on this, I take it as we don't get Prime Conditioning / Firm conviction anymore. But well LOL at least we get Fastcast.

Upper tiers of an action (such as Fire II and Fire III) will be abolished in favor of a system wherein potency and MP cost are scaled based on the player’s level.
Didn't realize the severity of this one till my fiance pointed it out- So we only get one cure now? Our cure III's are already a 5 second recast, thus we're going to go to one cure spam fest? Honestly I think it simplifies things but at the same time makes it quite interesting + quite complicated if you don't have a THM leveled high.

    Thoughts, concerns? Post away!

Defiantly looking forward to part 2 of this post :3

Cure from behind => -50% enmity

Regen from flank => +20% next cure potency

Cure + curaga on a quick succession => -30% enmity gained.

Honestly, I don't think we should be worried. Yoshi-P is not going to screw over CNJs royally or on purpose. Sad to see that I have to level GLA for shield skills now, might just go 2-handed weapon after this and watch my enmity better.

i posted this in another thread but ill pst it here too:

If we do get one cure and its scaled to lvl, then does that mean that all classes that obtain cure at a low lvl can then use it on their dow class and have it scaled up.

I was a bit curious about this too, currently Cure, is an optimal rank 4 spell (assuming they will keep it close to that level) Anyone who levels their CNJ to rank 10 will have Cure. Then they switch to say a 50 GLD and it thus becomes a rk 50 cure? Granted because its a cross trait we'll probably see a lesser amount as cure is not a native trait but will still be interesting how this plays out.

Since at the moment, I feel it is almost necessary at this stage for GLD to have at least one t3 cure (Sacrifice / cure III meaning rank 48 of either THM or CNJ) If this is the route they go it may actually be quite nice for new players who want to start the game soon but not have to level the 5 other jobs to 50 to do it.

I know my friend came to this game and choose GLD and I thought to myself (of all the jobs he had to pick...) just because of all the other GLDs in my guild at the time had MRD/CNJ/THM 50 for such things as Def II/Cure/Sac III and many other DoW's for nifty cross traits.

If anything I think this will bridge the gap between players who want to succeed at one job but not have to level all other classes to 50 to be good at it. I don't mind this route I think it draws more people in if anything.

I am hopeful this new development team has a plan for cures. I will be interested to see how combos extend to mage classes.

With skill tiers going away, I wonder how the elemental spectrum might get streamlined on the action bar. Maybe mages will have to shift between elemental affinities (not sure how that would be done with the UI). Then nukers will have two actions to choose from, DoT and Nuke with the element determined by the current elemental affinity you've chosen. Likewise a spell like Esuna could cure a status effect determined by your chosen elemental affinity. Say if you are in Ice mode, then when you nuke you get Ice spells and when you Esuna you remove paralyze. Otherwise it seems like six elements is going to clutter up the action bar.
