Well I recently did Weeping City and Ozma had to be my favorite boss, they should've saved him for the end in my opinion.
What do we know so far about it?

Yeah, I'd like to know what Ozma is exactly.
According to Cait Sith, Ozma was used to devour entire cities and when Ozma does suck the party in you see distinctly Nymian structures - complete with Oschon's symbol.

Ditto; I'm surprised we didn't get a little more context. I tried to find information specifically relative to XIV over IX and I didn't get anything.
So it's a strange sphere used by Mhach to destroy cities. Inside of Ozma is a torn-apart Nym, and within that Nym is an Ozmashade; I assume this creates a paradoxical loop resulting in the presence of the "singularity" mobs and inverted Atomos. I posit that it's a magickal construct, perhaps made of highly-condensed astral and umbral energies (hence the halves of the sphere and the presence of "banish" magicks (Holy) and "scourge" magicks (Doomsday). That kind of raw gravity and power might screw with time and create a nesting paradox.
But, honestly, I got nothin'... lol
The salt from countless players gave birth to being known as ozma and their tears sustain his sphere like form for all eternity.
I noticed the Nullstone seemed to be made of a similar substance, especially when Cait Sith transformed it into a staff.
I think it was also said that Ozma was a created as a defense system to guard the pyramid.
Final Fantasy IX? He's a primal made up of light and dark energy and was locked away, like in XIV his powers come from those who believe in him and because he was locked away and forgotten about he took on that form because no one knows what he once looked like
Final Fantasy XIV in this game he's a defense mechanism of some sorts created by mages to keep out intruders and protect the weeping city [Citation on the mage part? Went to go look up on wiki to confirm what I learned and that was new]
But we all know that this is canon ^
Your salt fighting him is also going to make him even more stronger leading to more wipes so Good Game and get good.

The Glorihole (Extreme) when? :P
I should mention that Black Hole and the subsequent phase implies that Ozma is (was?) a Dimension onto itself. Considering the rest of the raid and another certain grup of precursors. I would not be surprised that the Mhachi would be capable of manipulating and creating pocket dimensions. (ON a side note I couldn't find the Oschon symbol during my trip and the videos I seen, oes anyone ahve a snapshot of it?)
Does anyone have an in-world citation for the "defense mechanism" bit?
I missed it and it'd be nice to have something for the bestiary beyond Ozma: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I'll check the other languages; between the meteors and the "devours cities" thing, it strikes me as more of an offensively-minded construct, so I'd prefer know for sure before I go writing it down, lol. I mean, it's clearly one of the layers of protection between invaders of Mhach and the Nullstone. Perhaps it could even be a failsafe for if Mhach bit off more than it could chew. But was it created for that purpose, or was the Nullstone's pyramid just a convenient place to store it between meals of enemy nations?
