Shield Tank

The top one looks more like 2 giant cannons than a shield.

Not sure why people want a blue mage to be tank. How will cotton cloth stop a weavers needle? A samurai which is almost like a dark knight wouldn't make sense.

They're gunshields. Ya know, because he's Garlean and everything Garlean needs a #%@$ing gun on it.

That second image where they look more like massive gauntlets seems like a more interesting option for tank weapons though.

They are gun shields. Kind of like Cao Ren from Dynasty Warriors, except on both arms. However attack speed is slow and ideally if implemented would have more mitigation than a PLD.
