    Poor Resident Caretaker NPC

I'm here to look out for other players. Maybe I'm just stupid and didn't fully understand housing rules. I feel like I'm going to get a lot of heat for this as well, but whatever. I'm just leaving this as a note.

Upon the recent patch, as we all know, many plots and wards have opened up. I was eyeing specifically, plot 12 of ward 10 in Lavender Beds. It has a very special meaning to me (October 12; girlfriend's birthday, grandfather's death date, first newborn, whatever you want to think of... it's a special day to me)

Note, I'm a first time buyer, and am extremely excited to purchase my first personal plot. So as I waited for the devaluation timer to go off, I went into an instance via duty finder. After coming out, I was a bit distracted, and bought plot 15 instead of 12. I was extremely upset at myself for that mistake. I definitely own up to that mistake.

HOWEVER, I frantically submitted a request via support desk to speak with a GM. I did not get anything after two days. So I went off looking up how to get a good portion of my gil back for my plot (a type of refund). The only thing I was able to find on reddit was something along the lines of 80% of originally purchased price when relinquishing your plot.

Now here's where it gets all technical. I went to the Resident Caretaker NPC in Lavender Beds, and it said something along the lines of divesting your property and relinquishing it will get me back four-fifths of my plot's value. So that to me, confirms that I do get money back from relinquishing my plot. And so I went ahead and relinquished my plot I mistakenly bought.

Unfortunately, I got 0% back. Zero-fifths. Of course, this would devastate anyone. After two days of no response from the GM's, I submitted a help ticket again, which finally got me a GM to talk to me. However, the GM would weasel their way around to not being able to do anything for me. They told me that the refund on the plot was a 45-day inactivity feature. HOWEVER, this was not stated by the Resident Caretaker NPC. I asked if s/he could do anything for me as a GM, but all they would tell me is both reimbursing gil and granting me ownership of the plot would be out of the scope of what GM's can do. So I kindly asked under who's scope would it be, to help me out with my situation competently. The GM told me to leave a request in the forums for such a feature.

So here I am, ranting. It took me forever to figure out how to set up my account here because I had no idea how to select a main character. I also should've (but did not), copied and pasted my conversation with the GM I spoke with. I also should've (but did not), copied and pasted what the NPC says to you about repossessing property. Once again, no where does it state the 45-day duration. I have already unsubbed prior to typing up this post. And it really sucks because as I unsubbed, they told me I had 29 days left until my current month is over.

    Here's my suggestions:
-Please have the Resident Caretaker NPC's chat fixed and reworded properly. At least have it state the conditions of repossessing plot.
-Please have your GMs properly trained; or at least give them a manual on how to deal with these delicate situations. Because of a GM's incompetence, you guys have lost a subscriber; over a petty 3m housing. (I know some will say "Have your friends chip in" or "If it's only 3m, why are you making it a big deal?" It's not the price of it on my end, but the principle.) GMs just weaseling their way out of these situations and not properly helping a dissatisfied customer is really bad for your business. And I'm sure you guys can look up the chat logs between me and the GM who dealt with my situation.

Aside from that, it's been a great 1+ year. I hope some of you guys got a good laugh out of this while others actually take it seriously. For a first time buyer.. I guess I had a really bad case of buyer's remorse.
