2 AST can work together with opposite sect only
You just need to watch out for card overwriting
But having double lightspeed and essential dignity help
If I remember right Vael, we did saw two AST doing a marvellous job together ! XD

I'm constantly amazed how many ASTs have this "i like to play Diurnal only" stance, then when they get paired with another AST it's like no one wants to switch. (I'm guessing these situations they were solo-queued, and are not AST mains so they were so used to status quo). Little do they know nothing stack. I see it all too often and I've gotten to the point to educate on this topic if I'm tanking something.
I didn't notice right away but when I ended up dying as PLD MT in A8 for some reason to the first buster, then the other tank did after they took aggro for the second one. Never mind I had a Sentinel up for the first, which should make it pretty easy to heal considering how well-geared I am. But they were busy overwriting ABs and who knows what else was going on. It was like pulling teeth for one to switch too, because one of them was like they never play Noct. Until I mentioned one is just wasting MP because nothing stacks and really just one shield is all you need for the big hit, then just Benefic. I usually jump at the chance at Noct AST when I can.

Even though it's not my main, I do enjoy dabbling in ast once and a while. When I do, I actually prefer being in noct. Mostly because I'm so used to being the proactive scholar.I'm constantly amazed how many ASTs have this "i like to play Diurnal only" stance, then when they get paired with another AST it's like no one wants to switch. It's really strange - I prefer Noct in trials/raids, but I'm only really experienced with WHM, so I would assume I'd prefer to be a mini WHM in Diurnal.... I have SCH to 60, but only after a lot of off and on leveling, so I'm not particularly experienced or proficient.... and not really a play style I feel confident in, even if the shielding concept is similar.
And yet I prefer Noct stance in pro-actively pre-shielding and pre-casting.
