Looking to get back into crafting, I've got some questions.

Hey expert crafters! I'm looking to get back into crafting after a LONG times away from it, like, I stopped paying attention to crafting in 2.1 kinda long. I took an extended break but I plan to be back for a while, and I wanted to get back into it, especially with the moogle dailies available now for leveling purposes.

The only crafts I have at 50 are Alchemist, Weaver, and Carpenter, with blacksmith at 15, goldsmith at 13, culinarian at 37, and a hard 0 on Armorer. I also have level 60 on Botanist and 33 on Miner. I Plan on getting Alchemist up to 60 first because it was the first one I got to 50 and I'm a bit sentimental about it (and crafting cordials seems amazing). So first want to ask, what is the best way to level? Is it still leve allowances? I also haven't done any moogle or Ixal quests, so I can use those as supplements, but mainly what's best? And if leves are still king, does anyone know the easiest/most efficient leve I can do?

Now, I know I'm probably not gonna worry too much about materia and stuff, but how should I go about gearing myself? Should I just get red scrip stuff or what? Also I have no idea about collectibles, but I suppose I can find a guide somewhere explaining that.

That's all I can think of right now, but I'm sure I'll have more questions. Thanks for all your help in advance!

Crafting Log to 15, Leves/crafting log/Ixali beast tribe to 50, Leves/Moogle beast tribe/collectibles to 60. With the recent changes, you really want to focus on getting blue crafting tokens for new gear for when you hit 60.

I'd strongly suggest, however, taking all under-50 crafters to 50 before working (except for Moogle beast tribe stuff) on going higher than 50. You will want the cross class skills, and more importantly, you will want the ability to craft your own refined materials, something that is more prevalent in HW recipes than ARR recipes.

It can also help to have your gatherers done.

Agree with everything the previous poster just said, especially about gatherers. HW recipes take a ton of raw materials, in both the gathered/hunted items and the crystals. If you don't want to spend a ton of cash, expect to spend a lot of time farming. Collectibles are great to help with this, because even before you can earn blue scrips with the system, you get large xp gains from a single craft. However, you will need to be able to hit the collectibility minimum, which is about half quality. That is why you should also level the other other pre-50 crafters and get those cross-class skills.
