Alrighty, so Selene right now is our more offensive fairy. She got wonderfully buffed in 3.0 by combining the Skill Speed/Spell Speed buffs into Fey Wind, causing a flat 3% increase in speed (Does not affect DoTs buffs because of this.) Fey Caress was also added and when its useful, its super useful. She does have one skill, that's just not as universal as it used to be. Silent Dusk. Although, it is a Scholar's only interupt skill, its so gimmicky to use and 99% of the time ineffective, its not worth it anymore.
OK NEW IDEA (pls no hate me bard)
Although I do love when her silence works, it's used so little and she is fairly inconsistent at using it at the right time, that it does "need" replaced (in proportion to other changes to the other classes in 4.0.)
What if instead, it was a 7-10 second magic vulnerability down, similar to a magical vulnerability only sneak attack.
Fey-Disaster (like Tri-Disaster)
Ability
Magic Vulnerability Down
Duration:8 Seconds
Cool Down: 80 seconds
It makes selene more offensively supportive and synergies really well with the SCH/SMNs for bane on aoe pulls, while keeping her fairy hands clean.
Old idea:
I was thinking since SE has given Scholar self-depreciating, but very tactical skills like emergency tactics (costing a shield for a bigger heal) and Dissipation (Costing your fairy for 30 seconds and its resummon for larger heals and an full stack of aetherflow.) Why not pass on these options to Selene? She's already a bit of a weirdo with silence anyways, plus she works very well with Warriors by Fey caressing pacification off Beserk, who as marauders in lore, were very close to Scholars.
Fey Explosion
Selene gathers her inner light and releases it.
Cool Down: 15 seconds
(Summon II on Arcanist also had an AOE similar, without the negative effects, Called Shining Topaz)
Cast Time: 2 seconds
(Same as Whispering dawn)
Damage: 70 Potency, based on MIND
Additional Effect: At the end of the cast, Selene suffers from Silence for 5 seconds and will be unable to cast spells.
(No Embracing)
This would essentially cut Selene's healing in half, since she would be casting the spell for a 7 second investment every 15 seconds. Scholars get to make choices, instead of just spamming embrace. Do I want more DPS or Do I want more single target healing? Silent dusk isn't used much anyways, so the new addition might not even affect many scholars.
