    Patch 3.3 Feedback

Hello Staff, and Community. After a few days of playing the new patch, I would like to give my feedback on the game. I do have a few major complaints, but I want to withhold my anger, and keep it as constructive as possible. I will be separating my my feedback in two separate categories. I would also like those who may comment to be constructive, but if you can't comment without getting angry, I would suggest taking a time out, and letting those feelings settle. Getting angry is going to make the staff less likely to hear you out! Be strategic and smart about what you say, and they might consider it! However, I do understand why you feel that way, but Anyway, but anyway here it is. First up I'll be starting with the pros, and lastly with the cons! I feel as though they work very hard, and so I should tell them what they got right FIRST. It's only fair.

Note: I am going to try to restrain from asking for new things, unless it relates to something already in the game. This is about addressing the current state of the game, and not a wishlist of things I'd like to happen.

    Pros:

    1. Amazing end of the the Heavensward story. The final fight with Nidhogg was exactly the way I imagined it. I also have to appreciate that they went out of the way to make a boss inspired by my inherited culture. As a Swedish American, thank you for that. It made me smile.

I'll never forget the morning I refused to sleep, because I was anxious to bring Ishgard to salvation. It took our group FIVE WIPES to finally beat him, but not giving up, and coordinating with everyone was WORTH IT. The end result made me feel like I truly accomplished something, and I would really hope that it wouldn't get nerfed like the original steps of faith was. Sometimes difficulty is too much, but at other times it makes it something you have to actually work for. Things you have to work for cause personal growth, and make it worth surpassing. I really hope FFXIV can continue to teach this to my generation.

    2. Certain characters spirits coming back to help us! It really touched my heart, and helped me bring myself to peace. Because of their passing I had a really hard time using the minions of them, and even today I still struggle to, but its getting better. I also really loved that sidequest that gave us a certain emote I won't spoiler. Yes it takes forever running around, but it was truly a thoughtful gesture, and I am so thankful I didn't give up doing it. It was worth it, and the dialogue was perfect. Thank you Square Enix, thank you Yoshi P.

    3. The fight against the Garleansin Azys La was a great return to that conflict. I feel as though they have been a bit on the side lately, and its probably getting time to address the conflict. Thank you for bringing that back to focus a bit, because I cant' wait to see more of it. I also really appreciate that they brought the Warring Triad from Final Fantasy VI into the game. That's my favorite of the classic Final Fantasy titles. (I consider classic from 1 - 9, and post classic X-XV, but its just my opinion. You're fine to make of it what you want.)

    4. The new clothing designs are awesome. I'm absolutely in awe of the moonfire gear, and I'm trying my best to get the mats for them. The outfit really makes me think of something out of Spira, or the Kingdom Hearts Universe. The Sohr Khai gear is awesome too! I'm quite fond of the gear for the magic users. It reminds me of ancient religions back in the days where some of humanity thought that we were one of nine worlds. look that up if you're interested! It's fascinating. The outfit is sort of like an ancient demonic shaman. I must train a magic user to 60 now.

    5. Polis Raider is an amazing title, and I'm thankful for it. I must have it.

    6. The lost City of Mach is AMAZING.

    7. Sohr Khai is absolutely breathtaking!

    8. Giving us the Heavensward main theme as a music sheet was a sweet and touching surprise.

    Cons:

    1. Housing is a disaster. I know you guys tried, but you've got to put more effort than just adding wards. I had no chance to buy a house, because I was one of two thousand people queuing to get into Balmung at launch of the new patch. The right to even compete for a plot was completely denied to me. I believe that you should of made it so the new districts opened up one hour after launch since you had to gradually queued everyone in to prevent server crashes. I also feel like the limited plot housing is a horrible idea for a game that is apart of such a famous franchise. There is no way everyone is going to get a house, and honestly I think we all deserve one if we're paying for a subscription. We should all be able to have a place to sit our avatars down.

    2. Graphics are starting to look old even with the new ps4 framerate boost. During the final cut scenes of Heavensward, I noticed that some of the graphics close up were very pixelated. It reminded me of the days of Final Fantasy VII. This needs to change soon.. its starting to feel stale..

    3. It took me thirty minutes to que into the Lost City of Mach, which is a shame because I love that dungeon. For some reason tanks are having a hard time getting in, while others are claiming to get in quickly. I do not like this.

    5. Music sheets are glitched from what I've heard. That is unacceptable, and I hope that those who worked hard for a broken music sheet, will be compensated with the right one.

    6. Ozma was too weak! I know this is probably just nostalgia on my part, but I feel that for a representation of a super boss, he should be much tougher! If you could make an Ozma trial where is he is extremely difficult like in past games, It would make me happy.

    7. House re-sellers are ruining the game. There are people who are buying as many houses as possible, and selling them for 60+ mill. I believe that some of these groups are collaborating on many servers due to people I've met in game, but I could be partially wrong! Please investigate this, because its making the system broken. My suggestion? Make it so that we can only have one private room, and two houses, with old house being relinquished after one week! The reason I say that is because it takes time to move out of a house, and it would make buying an upgrade to a larger, or more preferred location easier. I also think it would be wise to make it so that FC masters can be incharge of one FC house, and a personal one. They should have the right to a private house as well! Lastly, I would make it so people caught reselling houses are permanently banned from owning any kind of private chamber for a specified time, and for repeat offenders to be banned FOREVER. Scalpers are the gaming communities nightmare. I would also suggest for people to stop buying from them, and think about how its effecting our game.

    8. The Answers orchestration is honestly just too expensive on most marketboards, and I think it should of been free. We beat the whole maingame, and the theme of A Realm Reborn is in our hearts. Why make that exclusive to only a few people? I don't like that. It should of been granted to everyone that beat A Realm Reborn, just like the Heavensward one.

    9. The new frontlines map doesn't count towards the Field Commander gear! The sad thing is that the old one is now considered obsolete by people, and now I'm unsure I'll be able to get the gear. I wish it was like other multiplayer games, where everyone queued for something, and you got to a randomly generated map. I really like both, and didn't want a new map just to make the old one unused. I wanted it to expand the experience, so that we wouldn't be on the same map over and over again. I honestly wish there were more maps to add variety to the experience.

Anyway, thank you SE for doing such a great job despite some HUGE flaws that made the game annoying for some. Keep it up, and please consider the things that are making people so frustrated. :3

    3.3 redscrip change

I would also like to leave some feedback here about some of the new patch 3.3 content. Changing the requirements for the new progression tools to use redscrips in their original form instead of the tokens (50 redscrips each) was a serious middle finger to us crafters in my opinion.

I imagine that SE wants to keep us from saving up ahead of time for the new patch content, but why? Why when nothing changed to earn the redscrips in the first place? I would still have to make the same gears to turn in for the same amount of redscrips so the grind would still be the same. I earned those scrips the same way I would earn them today so why make it worthless towards progression? If it's not a tactic to just keep us playing longer with weekly caps, thus paying more monthly subs, then please give us a way to exchange tokens back to redscrips.

Just because you pay the sub doesn't mean you "deserve" anything. Housing is a side project and does not add anything major to the game besides airships and gardening, both of which you can do with an FC. And to top it off, you can only have airships with an FC house. If you want to garden, ask to use a friends house, or try your hands on the new house planters that came out this patch. The housing situation sucks on overpopulated servers, but its something that you have to deal with. If you want a house, theres plenty in underpop servers, but you have to deal with the low populations when it comes to clearing content and making friends.

Its a problem you'll run into when the raid only needs 1 tank per party. It was changed to this from the old, Labyrinth of the Ancients, just because it was hard to have 6 tanks que into the dungeoun vs only 3 from Syrcus tower onward. It made the overall que faster for everyone else.
