Why do you play an MMO if you're not willing to cooperate with others? It makes no sense...

It'd be like me overwriting someone else's protect because I want MY protect up. That's just silly and a waste of time.

You realize you get the advantage regardless of being in the same party or not on ALL debuffs, right? There's no party-specific Slashing Resistance Down. The enemy just starts taking more damage from Slashing sources regardless of their user.

That said, your Dancing Edge example does make me wish there were certain priorities or criterias we could adjust for what or whose debuffs other than our own we want shown. Otherwise we end up with a bunch of NINs each wasting 60 potency per rotation. Honestly, if I were coming from the 'only by debuffs visible' point of view, that might even be more important to me than the issue of my DoTs not showing. I've been dealing with the latter long enough to count to 18 in my head each time... Sucks, but it works.
