    Actually I thought about this issue more, it got me thinking of an old addon I used in WoW. Basically the addon showed you the timers on your own personal debuffs in a separate part of the screen you could place it at so you could track them without having to look at the enemy HP bar.

    It is possible to do this with a certain program we aren't allowed to talk about, sadly I don't think we'll get officially supported addons anytime soon as last time I heard about it they said they had put it on hold.

    For now while the PS3 is an active version of the game, I don't believe we would see something like that WoW addon. It is something I like to see however if they finally open the gates for addons. They are 3 1/2 years late on that unfortunately.

    I mean, while RAM may make this an option only for PC and PS4, we could even have certain debuffs show up on the enemy list itself, to the right or left of each enemy listed. Probably just significant CC and your own DoTs, maybe vuln debuffs you place.

    Ah, no, I didn't mean for this system to utilise the "stack" concept that already exists in the game for Aurum Vale boss poisons, etc.
    It's meant to be a visual shorthand that collates the number of active player-inflicted debuffs of a given type (like Aero, Bio, Mutilate, etc) and to simply show a new number representing the tally- freeing up more slots in the buff bar for the client to display. Each DoT should still be tracked independently server-side.

    That said, I'd also like an option for Focus Target to exclusively display my DoTs. It's really damn annoying to be one of two people targeting an enemy, and for their debuffs to be given priority in my personal FT window.

    They could just prioritize the players dots/debuffs by having them at the start of the enemy status bar thingy, and THEN put everyone else's dots/buffs on the enemy status bar afterwards. That way you can always see your own, and not too much added work would be required :P

    I never needed to keep track of DoTs on DRG. They seemed to be timed in a manner where it makes to apply them as part of a regular rotation and not interrupt your other attacks just to reapply a DoT. ;-)

    SMN though? This NEEDS to be fixed.

    Thats weird, with 2 dots it should be only doing about 2k damage. So my dots fall off due to mechanics and I reapply them. Only Bio is now ticking and applied. Fester - 3k+ damage...?
    The DoTs are applied and ticking, they're just not showing on the status bar so you don't have a quick reference to them being up and how much time is left. But Fester activating on them is an indication that they're active.

    While fixing the display would be predictably nice and expected, especially on Focus Target, the real problem is that there seems to be a hard effective limit of 60 or less debuffs on one target. Sorry, but that's inexcusable because each Job can inflict around or at least 3 debuffs and 24*3= 72, well over 60, and it gets exponentially worse if the cap is less. It reminds me of Classic WoW in 2004 when it had a cap of 40 in its earlier raiding days at the same time that raid parties were made up of 40 people.

    There's no good reason for this, but then again, we've heard countless times that the devs would like to do a lot of sensible things but they can't because of PS3 limitations or poor quality servers. It's just baffling and almost infuriating that Square Enix doesn't allocate a proper amount of money for what is probably one of their biggest money makers, if not the biggest one outside of mobile software.


    Btw, Evangela may be kind of airheaded or weird, but she touched on a good point that I'd like to mention, though only briefly because it's off topic.
    It IS very stupid that Dancing Edge by itself results in a potency loss for the Ninja. No, Dancing Edge's design is not good because it "promotes communication" or anything like that, in my opinion. It's just plain bad gameplay design when Dancing Edge's equivalent debuffs inflicted by other class' weaponskills are automatic because said weaponskills are in fact largely beneficial beyond the debuffs they inflict.
    As long as Storm's Eye, Disembowel, and, to a much lesser extent, Dragon Kick remain as they are, it could not be any clearer to me that Dancing Edge should combo off of Shadow Fang, not Gust Slash. This has been clear since day 1 of Rogue being introduced in FFXIV, and I still think it just as clear today.
