That is exactly right. When a warrior was with me during sohr kahl my dancing edge always got overwritten.
I already shown how they could fix this in a post since 2.1. When extra dots override your dots, the dots get a stack. Stacks to 9. But only displays your own dot timer on your screen. When your dots ware off or other players it loses a stack. This way you could have 20 icons with 9 stacks. 180 dots. Its not important to see other players dot timers, just need yours.

Not sure if you are aware of this option, but you can change this in the HUD tab of Character setup. Somewhere at the end of that page you can switch on the option to only show your own DoTs and debuffs. Can't log in right now to see what it's called precisely, but it's there. The problem is in raid-wide content, where everyone is placing their DoTs and debuffs on the enemies/boss that sometimes your DoTs/debuffs dont show up, and you are left wondering, when to refresh or if the DoT/debuff even showed up at all. This is a big issue for Summoners, Scholars, and Bards, who rely on DoTs fod a big part of their damage. Andto add insult to injury, with skills like Sidewinder and Fester, sometimes they don't register if the DoT markers aren't there. Please SE can you fix this. The DoTs/debuffs I place should always be viewabld on my screen.
That doesn't help with the problem described. Not sure if you are aware of this option, but you can change this in the HUD tab of Character setup. Somewhere at the end of that page you can switch on the option to only show your own DoTs and debuffs. Can't log in right now to see what it's called precisely, but it's there.
Sometimes you put the dots up and while you see the combat text of +DOT it doesn't actually show the icon on the mob.
It has been an issue even in 8 man content when there is no 60+dots going up. Best way to solve it is to let the dots run out and reapply them again. But I have gone through whole fights reapplying both of my bites with iron jaws and they were ticking fine and getting registered by sidewinder. Just no icons ever shown.
(super serious)I don't know what to put here so I've put this here as a placeholder until I figure it out.(super serious)
Recruitment code if you are starting out: FTB8JBQ5
While this option s exists, there is a hard limit on the amount of debuffs an enemy can have. Not sure if you are aware of this option, but you can change this in the HUD tab of Character setup. Somewhere at the end of that page you can switch on the option to only show your own DoTs and debuffs. Can't log in right now to see what it's called precisely, but it's there.
Even if you have this option on, if your dots are pushed past the limit, they still won't trigger.
Well, you should use it in the opener, just in case. You may not get a warrior who uses it right off the bat.

This bug/oversight is the bane of my existence. "Well, I can still see Miasma and it's down to 4s so I guess I'll reapply them all and hope I'm not wasting time" is not a super great way to play a job that relies on damage over time as its primary source of damage mechanics.

Screw Warriors. I do what I want.

Damn straight.
Anyhoot, on the subject of DoT's, I always took it as a form of a random monster resist. As this "bug" has always occurred for me not only on 24 man, but also in 8 and 4 man content. Mostly on bosses not trash. So that's the way I see it.
Is it reset Tuesday yet.
I question whether I'm playing a PvE game with PvP mixed in, or I am I playing a PfG.
