Ifrit-Egi's Radiant Shield damage anomaly

Ifrit-Egi's ability Radiant shield reflects drastically lower damage if an enemy hit's a target aside from Ifrit-Egi himself.
I did multiple tests (on my i190 smn) and this is what it looked like:

>If a monster attacks the Egi directly, it reflects somewhere between 150-200 damage
>If a monster attacks me, it only reflects 40-60 damage

This remained 100% static between multiple monster types, even with different levels and in different areas.

Pet Action (Ifrit-Egi)
Delivers an attack with a potency of 50 every time physical damage is suffered for 20 seconds.

Apparently the buff's damage reflected back is based on the individual buffed target's strength. And IIRC, I think Ifrit's attacks are slashing damage, thus physical... Which may imply Ifrit has a higher STR stat than us Summoners.
