One of FFXIs biggest problems was lack of Low Level content.
(1) get people some practice for real endgame content.
(2) have FUN as you level up, rather than just boring tedious grinding.
(3) MOST people who arn't playing now, have probably played another MMO before, and know they want to do something, other than sit in a spot, and kill the same enemies over and over.
What you are suggesting is for a game maker to make an offline RPG, where u grind on slimes from Lv1-50, then FINALLY days later, get to do dungeons, and gain no exp from it.
I tried to get friends to play FFXI, and because Tanaka refused to work on Low Lv content, most of them quit before reaching Lv20.
Tanaka wanted to please those who are already playing, rather than bring in the people who arn't playing yet, or quit.
I DO understand the need to have more content coming, but this game DOES need dungeons for the low levels. (Granted it SHOULD have been out by launch, this way resources are better spent elsewhere.) but this is a mistake that needs fixed, just as much as any other.
I'm sorry for you, and for myself, since I would like to have more endgame content, but I also enjoy my friends playing with me.
(Just to clarify, one of FFXIs BEST features, was NOT raising the Level cap. This way endgame content wasn't just ONE event, but every added event, since launch. Unlike WoW or something, where Raised Level caps made zones empty, and left you with the same 3 raids.)
