    Fatal DirectX Error 11000002

When using DirectX11 mode the game regularly crashes (about every 30 seconds during The Striking Tree for example) with this error.
This started happening with the latest Geforce Driver 359.00 and/or patch 3.1.

I have tried cleaning & reinstalling both DirectX and my graphics drivers and also updating my chipset driver, nothing helped. The only thing I can do to prevent the crashes is run the game in non-DX11 mode.

I am using a Geforce GTX 780 & Asus MAXIMUS VII RANGER Gaming MB Z97.
This has been marked as resolved, but is happening even more frequently than before in the past 2 weeks for me.
It also happens every minute or so in the Goblet for me, whis is especially annoying since I just bought a house there.

I can confirm I have been having this since 3.0 as far as I can remember and the crashes have been rampant since 3.3, the worst I've ever had - I had 6 of these in a single run of Weeping City. I tried switching to DX9 and still got them (error 1000000b) on DX9 - exact same thing as the DX11 crash just a different error code. This is NOT resolved, There are countless threads on this issue with intricate detail from each person on what the issue is and their system configs, yet we have yet to receive a single reply from an SE representative on the issue, it is really getting on my nerves. Please SE - we are all 100% willing to give you as much information and time as you would like from us but this issue really needs to be fixed, I don't enjoy wiping my whole party on Nidhogg Ex because I crashed and we failed the DPS check and/or lost the limit break due to that.

I am running a EVGA GTX 770 SC, it runs perfectly on every other game I play so i'm inclined to think this isn't a GPU issue, but some sort of driver incompatibility between FFXIV and the Nvidia drivers (though note people with AMD cards also have this same issue)

    DirectX ERROR 11000002

I had the same problem for the longest time and didn't know what was causing it. Recently I went to my control panel > System and security > Power Options and changed my preferred plans to Balanced instead of high performance and the game has been working fine so far. Hope it helps

The only way I was able to fix this error is to reset my Overclock. I have GTX 980 ti SLI. FF14 is the only game this happens on. It does it in DX9 and 11.

Have been having this issue since 3.1 - I don't know why.

I read somewhere to underclock your graphics by about 100.

This is what I've been doing and 95% of the time it works.

Hope SE will address this as it's been awhile.
