It's more healing intensive than other NM trials, sure, but if your healers are really struggling that much then I'd say there's also a problem with the tanks' CD usage. I tanked Nidhogg NM on my i205 WAR and, sure, it hurts a bit sometimes - but popping the right cooldowns at somewhat-right times makes it very manageable.

I feel like this fight is just the right difficulty at the moment - it's hard enough that it feels like you're fighting "vengeance incarnate" and that you're ending a war, but mechanically simple enough that it's easy to learn the fight.

I actually felt like the last phase was the easiest, because it's just a short rotation of attacks, with Akh Morn actually being a complete snooze as long as everyone stacks up. Still love that they included it - it was such a buttclench in T13.

The pro lem with akh morn is not with people not stacking up, on my experience. Most people do know what those arrows mean in that regard. .. and then they run out of it after the first hit, leaving those who know not to move to die.

If you say 'pls' because it's shorter than 'please', I say 'no' because it's shorter than 'yes'.

Sure, and then you'd tell them to stay until it finishes. People not communicating is not a valid reason for nerfing a fight.

Which is what I'd do, even before the fight. At times it makes me think some people ran those things with chat box hidden. And by no means was I asking for nerfs, I actually like the step up in pace this patch introduced. Nothing of the new stuff requires godly skills or the utmost topnotch gear. But it does require paying attention.

As a matter of fact, many people do just that to avoid spoilers. Or because they don't wanna hear the salt.

I personally haven't bothered with Nidhogg yet, so I don't know how the fight actually goes. But from what I heard, I wager I'll rather ignore it until it either has become more pug-friendly or I simply have to because all my new goals are locked behind MSQ progress.

Which is a shame since by being uncommunicative and seemingly not reacting to advices given they actually contribute to the salt. Guess I was in good fortune for my both first clears, weeping city and nidhog, by getting a DF party which acually exchanged advice and had "let's do this" attitude. Stuff is so much easier when everyone's on the same page (or even same chapter..)

Wiped few times on the add phase due to low dps, otherwise the fight is so easy it can be finished with only tanks and healers - even in pug groups.

Tbh. Watching the no longer needed dps dead on the ground was one of the most hilarious moments in the game for me ^^

The DPS check is extremely tight, and the mechanics of the last phase extremely unforgiving. The soft enrage of Super Saiyan Nidhogg's attack that you need to group up on this also extremely punishing, delivering increasingly severe damage. The groups that I've attempted it with that made it past the DPS check have all been annihilated by that mechanic.

It's a really fun fight, and I really enjoy the mechanics of it, but I feel it would only be manageable if I could call the fight over Ventrilo (which is not an option in DF). I would personally prefer to conquer it with an FC party, or with a static group, but neither option is readily available.

I'm willing to bet that SE is aware of the difficulties faced, the abysmal clear rates, and the astronomically high drop rates around the encounter, and that nerfs are incoming. And while a prideful part of me wants to clear it before they nerf it, I welcome the nerfs, because it means a group of total strangers will be able to win.

4 giant yellow arrows around your head has meant "STACK!" in this game since forever. How do people still not get this?!? (sigh) A little self-improvement never hurt anyone folks. I welcome the supposed increase in difficulty in this patch with open arms; it's what I've wanted for quite a while; Ozma (which really isn't that difficult TBH) and NiddEsty might be my favorite fights in the game. NO NERFS NEEDED!!!!!
