Difficulty spike?

I cleared Nidhogg on patch night. The fight is healing and dps check but its not impossible to pull off with i205 gear. Clearing it means everyone needs to respond to mechanics correctly and play their class to the best of their ability.
I am no Elitist or super human player, I do normal mode raiding. I have never set foot in savage mode and rarely touched the extreme modes, yet I cleared Nidhogg with a random group of people. As LunaFaye said if people start failing step in and say something point things out to people.

One thing is for sure. Getting my weeping city clear before my msq clear is a bit messed up...but I enjoy my first piece of 240 gear. If all else fails, I'll wait till next update and just work on updating my gear with weekly weeping city pennies, and the hamster wheel for anima and try the trial then.

i guess nobody get you, it's a easy fight.
having issue with some group don't mean you need echo.
just enter 1 or 2 more times in the instance and get your clear and you won't need to argue with us elites badder from the forum. you know the majority of the players like you said don't read the forum.
and a nerf will not happen now but in 3 months

Also, one thing some players might even be unaware even after few tries or even a completion. On the latter part of the fight there is a mechanic we have this far learned to be one hit only in previous content. This time however it actually need people to stay put for longer time. People keep suiciding the group by running out of it after the first hit and then it's healer's fault when people die. Had a run yesterday where everyone actually stayed put long enough and it hardly made a dent to whole team.that of course meant that the healers had to be on top of their game to heal through it but the amount of damage was more than manageable.

same issue will occur then, till the day you learn that it isn't all about you or your gear etc. It's a team effort, as mentioned above try the party finder if you get frustrated via duty finder. Some people do not have the patience or time and I don't mean that in an offending way, therefore they are much happier to just get their clears via party finder.

However it has nothing to do with being elitist or hardcore especially if the new trial falls in neither of these categories, but a specific mindset when trying to clear new or more challenging content. Adding/requesting to add echo for your own personal satisfaction is not the way to go or how it should be. Sorry.

Had a blast doing Nidhogg on Wednesday morning after patch. Granted I did come in around the mid 220s, but others were also new and in lesser gear. As a BRD, I was being incredibly watchful over the needs of the healers especially later into the fight, especially if they died for whatever reason but that's what the role requires. I found the difficulty of Nidhogg and Weeping City really great! Not faceroll, not as hard as Savage, but really fun . Please keep it as-is. Our item level and the game as a whole is ramping up mechanics (look at Midas for example), the playerbase can't simply remain as-is - we must rise to the challenge presented.

Was in a part of those split-second clear or wipe situations earlier and does it hurt? Sure it does. But focus on redoubling effort or maybe if the group just can't do it, try to find another or make one. Barring that, just give it time. The patch has only been out a day or so now

Its funny that ppl cry about nidhogg normal being too hard, but on the other side ex version is the easiest ex fight ever.

This isn't the baby damage where you can get away with reactive healing or staying far far away for nothing. Don't hug the edge (or you will be so deep in fire columns you won't ever escape from). Use the CDs. Use barriers, hots. Remove debuffs. Be 110%! Follow directions on how to beat his tricks and you will make it.

If content continues to degrade itself into faceroll, the player base will more than likely diminish.
