Also, "I have great dps on my ninja" doesnt mean squat if you all ignore mechanics

Honestly, I've found Nidhogg to be pretty faceroll.
Id have to agree that since Nidhogg is the final boss he should not be nerfed at all. You have to remember that everyone has to learn the mechanics in order to clear and its only been a day since the patch released. Give it a few days and all will be well.
The fight at least needs echo, or to cut some slack on the dps check when adds spawn. I follow the mechanics, dodge aoes, number and focus down the adds. But in the last leg of the fight tanks die, healers die, summoners, bards, and black mages stand in aoes. I'm going to wager very few, if any of those who replied here are on adamantoise.
Please just, no, the fact a healer or tank can help terrible dps with such checks is enough, opinions like this have been the bane of the game since Alpha, the same happened with the level 15 story instance with the Ascian, people cried and ever since the Dev's listened the game had became so trivially easy, even though they could have over levelled to make it easier, just as you could gear higher/use food/meld/take potions.
Meld some vitality if you are dieing too easy, help tanks with your enmity manipulation and AoE/multi-DoT on adds phase to get through it. This is how the game should be, it's not hard at all. Healers shouldn't be able to do content with only their first heal just as much a dps their simple combo by this level.
Another hint is they buffed potions this patch, use them, it's not a lot but it will help loads.
I really don't think the echo will help all that much if people can't even dodge. The fight at least needs echo, or to cut some slack on the dps check when adds spawn. This fight doesn't need echo. I already can tank the entire fight without my tank stance (after hate is established of course.) on DRK. Sounds like you just got pretty horrible players. - Though I do hope they don't make the mistake of adding this to trial roulette. The fight at least needs echo, or to cut some slack on the dps check when adds spawn. I just can't! please rephrase to something like this :The fight at least needs echo, or to cut some slack on the dps check when adds spawn. I follow the mechanics, dodge aoes, number and focus down the adds. But in the last leg of the fight tanks die, healers die, summoners, bards, and black mages stand in aoes. "I've done everything correct but EVERYBODY else screwed up. please nerf or add echo because I can NOT solo the instance or/and have the patience to put some TEAM effort into it."
I could see how this trial is a bit challenging at ilvl 205 but not impossible by all means. If your healers are struggling have the smn raise dead people for example. Place way markers, newer players or blind/tunnel vision players will at least see in what direction they should be running. Mark targets, you would be surprised how many people actually do not know what add to attack first. There's plenty of ways to help others and actually get through this battle just fine as a TEAM or there is PF, maybe you give that a go since DF is clearly not made for you. But I don't think that we need another "lets add 50% echo to everything" campaign, it did ruin the ARR content and even some of the newer HW content.
A.) Obviously didn't read one of my earlier posts saying I wasn't calling for a nerf.
B.) I'm not saying 50% echo, as I've never seen it go that high. The highest I've seen echo is 20%...even though 10% would be the most I'd ever ask for.
Or
C.) A few more seconds on the dps check on the mobs would cut out a lot of the issue I have with the trial. I don't mean a minute by a few seconds. I mean like 3-8 extra seconds. As I've lost count of the number of times parties I've been in have failed by 1-3 seconds.
The arr content was fine imo with the exception of the things I've not run. (which is pretty much narrowed down to extremes, odin, and bahumat while sync'd.) The majority of players aren't hardcore gamers, those special people who are, are the minority. However, I'm done with the elites of the forums presuming things, and done with this thread. Maybe I'll get my clear when the game is back up, maybe I'll try another dozen times then call it a night.
The fight is fine the way it is. It has the right balance of Don't Stand in the big Glowing Ground effects, and Stack on the One single stack mechanic and kill the adds. That's it.. That's the fight. There is only One thing to stand in on the last phase. If your not standing in it, you're doing it wrong. it has the same STACK HERE ARROWS that Void Arc and Alexander have. The fight at least needs echo, or to cut some slack on the dps check when adds spawn. If you are not standing in Akh Morn, you are wiping your group, which from what it sounds like is exactly what you are doing.
I'm on Adamantoise, just for the record.
