    Update to Launcher won't start

    Good morning everyone

    I woke up early to download the patch but, once again!, the launcher updater wont start so I get the version check error thing at login.

    Not a single patch since 3.15 has been a smooth download and install and I want to ask you all: Why?!

    Does it have to do with my internet connection?
    Is it my routers NAT type connection (its 2)?
    Is it my PS4? (By the way, uninstalling and reinstalling is out of the question)
    Is it a faulty connection to the FFXIV server?
    I want to know WHY this is happening and how can I fix it?!
    If its my internet, what do I ask my provider to do if I contact them?


    The thing that makes me the most upset is that when I tell my PS4 to check for an update, it has the audacity to tell me its at the latest version.
    This error seems to up and disappear after 3 to 6 hours, which is NOT funny.
    Somebody PLEASE help me understand this and thank you.

    I have the exact same problem, and it has been like this since the expansion.
    Playing FFXIV HW disc version on Ps4.
    Nothing wrong with my connection. PSN has no troubles atm.
    The only game, app, service which is affected is the Final Fantasy updater/launcer. It won't update at all today. Been trying constantly for 5 hours now without luck.

    Posted in another thread as well that the launcher isn't updating, along with the screen shot of the error window. This is kind of silly to be frank.

    My launcher version is stuck at 2016.02.08.0000.0001(1838941)

    I got mine to work after deleting the entire client and reinstall the game. That was after 12 hrs with constant struggle to get it to update, in vain.
    I noticed the file size of my client also shrinked after I reinstalled it (Ps4 ARR CE disc version).
    This issue with the Updater/Launcher not updating started with the launch of Heawensward, and continued at every major patch where the client launcher needs to update before I log in.
    Previously I've been able to get in after a few hours, but not this time, so I finally deleted the client. That's 5hrs with download and install process.
    I really hope this reinstall also prevent the same issue at next update....
