When 240 Isn't Enough.

I waited 5 hours before the game went live to make sure I was completely available for it.

The lodestone updated early and we were able to download the game update early. Yay, excitement!

The second it went live I was bumped 5 times from the lobby server. . . When it finally worked I had almost 2k people in front of me. I never had a chance. It took exactly 28 minutes for me to get on. The housing system is so very broken. People on the inside said that it took 15 minutes to sell out. 240 plots added? What good is that when most of the 2k people are trying to get on to have a chance?

Congratulations to all those who succeeded, and those like myself who didn't I am really sorry we all have to share in this disappointment.

I managed to get the large I had been wanting, but I feel your pain. The worst part is, almost all of them sold to private residents on our server (Balmung). Very few FC's managed to get housing, this go-around. Maybe next time they should do a lockout, make it to where only FC's can buy them for the first day, then if any are left unsold, open them up to private residences.

You definitely have to go in with a sort of plan and pick an area. They are going to sell quick so you can't really hop around to the other areas. I am not upset that I didn't get a house for my FC. I am upset that I didn't get the chance to try to get one with the bump from lobby and long wait though. This seems to be a recurring problem since housing first came about and it seems like whatever improvements are made it wont ever be enough. : [

They have previously said the reason why we are not getting more is due to paying for additional server space and low budget priority. But they also have not found effective ways to keep profit netted. This indeed is a fault entirely on their end and has been for many years now.

It's pretty sad that when you visit their main website and it advertises housing above other things. It leaves a feeling of awe like it may be easy to get or that everyone has one. The reality is it's not a simple task. :\

It's all the fault of those darn people flipping houses on alts, without them 720 houses per server would be an ample supply...

Japanese servers are likely fine. They have 3 times more servers than the US area. So in the end, Square's country got what they wanted so likely they don't care at all.

There is a reason why I'm never surprised a japanese game doesn't come to the US.

Whenever I hear that excuse ..er... line, I'm like, how much do hard drives cost? ~$100/TB? How much space is needed per house and per ward? A few MBs per each right? i mean, houses and wards are just numbers telling the game what and where things are located.... Like, c'mon, in the grand scheme of things, it can't be THAT much...
