So I did it, I made the gil, rounded it between all my alts, and got myself an estate after almost three years. I did it, I won, I can finally rest...

And yet...this doesn't feel right...

I feel like I got this unfairly. Not out of gil (its all hard earned and mine) not out of doing what needed to be done and sacrificing time to get this place, but..it just..makes me think...

It bugs me that this is a mad dash. On Balmung NA, all small plots were devoured within barely five minutes of server uptime, and the rest about twenty minutes after, and that is a generous twenty. But it bothers me that in order to do this there were those who had to miss work, push back responsibilities, and all outside influences just to get an inflated plot with absolutely no chance to depreciate?

And don't even get me started with the flaws in the system and all who exploit and break the rules.

Further, what of those who badly wanted to settle and could not because of these sacrifices, because of their obligations? What of those who had to hunker down with server load and just couldn't get in on time, holding their gil and missing yet another opportunity?

There has to be a better way to do this...now that I've calmed down from the anxious rush this victory is terribly bittersweet...

In theory, but this is something terribly exploitable, which I wrote about here. And until SE adjusts estate permissions, unfortunately this is how it's going to stay.
