What I think is incredibly annoying, is the lack of communication on SE's side. Least they should hold their hands up and acknowledge what people are saying, and that they have messed up on the housing front. All the continued silence does is feed into the idea some have the SE don't care about the players and the fact many of us are being denied access to content because of the housing issue.

Another point of note, other issues aside: The Goblet is highly unpopular. Are most of the people "not able to get a house" meaning they are not able to get one in The Mist? Or at all? On Balmung it makes sense that literally all of them got sold quickly, with its population, but on Diabolos there are still Goblet plots available. I prefer The Goblet, so I guess I got lucky in that respect. With all of the posts pre-patch I was banking on having to make a mad dash to get a house, but literally none were sold in The Goblet when I got on - not one. Perhaps in the future The Mist should have more wards created than The Goblet does. Just an additional suggestion unrelated to the other issues that may need to be addressed with housing.

I honestly checked all of the areas just to see if I could find a plot to even trade with one of those scamming jerkbags =3= Nothing.

Ok I am 1000% behind banning traders. I was lucky but many good people were not. That said I think banning the criminals would only solve half the problem.

I don't sell houses, I'm not in game rich. But we need a regulated way of trading and selling houses. Maybe a npc that allows for it like the weddings. A price cap maybe. I don't think banning every person that sells. Sometimes its innocent. We need a way to trade for honest trades, then we can deal with the blackmarket.

Like me and others have said, we need a limit on how many houses one account can own...similar to characters per server. Another idea Ive seen is a randomized timer on houses that discourages reselling by leaving that random time between relinquishing and buying the plot again.

Agreed 100% on this one. It's like you're paying in advance for something you're not getting. Over, and over. You continue paying for a year and still don't get the thing. It's nice that we get new content, yes, but...This is the only thing that isn't really available to all players. Sure, you can join an FC, but you don't get the same privileges - Let's be realistic here, the only people decorating/gardening/doing the housing thing are the leaders and their circle of close friends. It just feels like a really, really long waiting game, and I can't see how they're going to fix it.

Honestly I'd like to have SE going "it's okay guys we have these plans to fix the housing issue so you can sink that hundred million gil you held on to for the last year at last" after crushing my hopes again.

about grading house sizes based on type of buyers cant really agree with that
I busted my ass of to grab a medium one as a personal house even risked letting my old small plot go beforehand. i just found the small one to small for my personal taste (with how I want to decorate it)

I logged in this morning and there are still mediums in the Beds. It's irritating me a little because I could have afforded one but I bought 3 smalls instead (provided gil for) for myself and a couple family members who were on the fence about even owning one. My train of thought was now or never for you guys. The extra space in a Medium is definitely nice though. I guess I should be happy for them instead of wishing I would have spent it all on myself. Who knows, maybe once apartments come out I'll have enough saved up to upgrade, provided someone abandons a medium. Wishful thinking, right?

There are still plots available in all three residential areas on Lamia, it just might not be a plot you want. Mansions sold out within minutes. Medium houses went a little more slowly. Smalls are still available everywhere.

The Goblet is the most unpopular, with all three types of houses available.

A point was made earlier, either here or in another thread, that we shouldn't have to transfer just to obtain housing. Besides, that just leaves the core problems ignored.

Not only shouldn't we have to move to a less populated server to obtain housing (because let's face it; why would I leave the server I was on since beta for a smaller server, when people from smaller servers transfer to my already overpopulated server because they don't want to stay on their smaller server? SE should instead give new players incentive to stay on their server instead of moving as soon as their first three days in the game have passed), but people looking for a Free Company house can't realistically ask all of their FC mates to transfer... people have developed friendships on their server over the years. They don't want to go.
