How about a roller coaster ride to help support VR in the fall.

Passing Finish line you get credit for your place. Going past another jockey while passing the finishing line doesn't push you ahead of the lead anymore.

that happens because of the delay. the data needs a moment to send between your game and the server and the other players game. if someone passes you after you were over the finish line he actually was faster than you and deserved the better placement. remember: all actions other players do happens 1 second later on your screen while your actions happens 1 second later on their screen. that means: on their screen they actually were going over the finish line before you. in the end the person with the fastest lap-time wins.
