Hopefully this is the right place for my thread.
It's more so an idea, or that if it's already been brought up - general information as to why it's not a thing.
So when queueing up in DF, I don't see why we can't queue as a role in general (i.e., tank, healer, dps[dd]), not locked down to a specific class. It's kind of implemented in Frontline, but not quite.
Frontline allows us to change to whatever class/role we want to, so if we get in without a healer, someone can change to a healer.
So why I find this to be useful - there may be negative affects from this, but I don't notice them yet.
Say we queue up as a AST to a raid like Alex, and there's another AST healer in the party - I personally DON'T like raiding with other AST's due to card overriding. I would love to have the option to change to SCH or WHM in the instance. Now note* we'd only be able to change our class out of battle - not during.
I don't see why this isn't a thing already - has it never been brought up before? If so, what were the reasonings that this couldn't be implemented into the game?
Hopefully I explained myself well enough, slightly distracted atm, so I tried to explain it my best.
