Embrace spam on a controller

Hello!

While playing SCH I would like my fairy to always be casting something while I DPS, even if it's just Embrace on a barely injured tank. PC players swear by the mouse-over macro, but I play on PS4 with a controller. Switching targets in the middle of a GCD seems too cumbersome. The < tt > macro doesn't work as the fairy only casts Embrace on herself.

Anyone have any suggestions? How do you optimize your own fairies?

With a controller your options are limited, so you'll have to settle for the least unconvenient solution.
What I do is the following:
1) macro embrace with adloquium ( /ac adloquium <t> + /pac embrace <t> ) and I use this either for healing/shielding my target or I spam it while casting other spells, so the adlo cast will be ignored.
2) pure embrace macro on the second player of my party list which will be the main tank ( /pac embrace <2> iirc) and I spam it while I do dps.
I'm not sure this is the best way to do it, but for dungeons and easy trials it's definitely satisfactory.
There are people that macro every offensive spell with embrace, but I personally don't like this solution because of how macros and skill queue work.

I do the same macro for the second player of the group. On ps4, that is the Best ( and it's working perfectly Well.)
Of course, remember to change the order between the two tanks if they swap or something of the sort.

I could never figure out why SCHs want to manually cast embrace. Especially on the MT. It might be a free cure, but it's still costing you time and key presses that can better be served mitigating. Even if you mac it. Place her by the MT and focus on proper micro management of their other abilities. If you have all that covered, then manually casting it during a CD should be quite simple. There is almost always something more worthwhile to cast than the embrace your properly placed fairy already has covered.

Manual Embrace does increase your HPS, as that forces the fairy to also heal above the 80% HP threshold and she won't change targets if other party members meet the threshold. Second, fairy has a 21-yalm auto-embrace. To go beyond that without fairy placement you need to manually use it. It's pretty useful to keep a tank going and handling other party members or sticking to some DPS.

Hmmm... I think I'll just have to live with the fact that my fairy'll take a break when people are above 80% HP. It's a bummer but I fear like any other solution would take away from my personal performance and hamper the healing output instead. I will dream of the day SE makes < tt > work with Embrace. Nice and simple, that.

For me, I have an embrace macro set to my left thumbstick (you can't be holding down a trigger for the macro to work though).

My macro heals whoever I set as the focus target, so I just set whoever the main tank is as the FT and I'm good to go. If a swap happens then I can just set the new tank as the FT.

Clearly this method won't work if you are accustomed to setting the boss as your FT, but if you aren't using FT it's not a bad way to go.

(Of course you also have to remember to set the FT as well, you'd think this wouldn't be an issue, but the FT resets whenever you change areas and when newer dungeons like antitower have at least 2 zone lines...)

I keep my fairy on auto (Sic) and have no problems. It may increase your HPS to Obey but HPS is not a cut/dry process.
