Unable to complete version check

I'm having the same issues with my version checker , although everyone says its due to the maintenance. But considering its taken 28 hours now i got to say this is highly inconveniencing, I only got to play 30 minutes after finishing the download and then updates before all this happened. Truly annoying.

It maybe due to a launcher version mismatch. My version of the launcher seems like it is old for a patch that was just released. 2016.02.08.0000.0001(1838941) is the value I got. Check the lower right hand corner of your launcher to verify your version. If this is really a new launcher the date code at the beginning should read something sooner than February 08.

I'm getting the same issue on my ps4 my launcher version 2016.04.11.0000.0000(1928168) error codes [20458][24530][20457][410].

I am so disappointed...paid for the 24 hours maintenance and all i get is a broken launcher that can't even load the text or picture. I hope ppl who are having problems with the patching process continue to voice their concerns here before this thread get drowned out by yet another housing thread.

I keep getting [20512] [25008] on my ps4 every time I try to download the patch, so frustrating when i think it's finally working (got to 360mb this time!) then it gives me that message. Doesn't even save my progress either and I have to start all over v.v

My version as well as the error code is the same as Raynar. I'll admit my internnet isn't the best because i am using wi-fi on my ps4. It took me an entire day to load the games and a second for the updates, combine that with the cost for both the games and the subscription its kinda a gutpunch to only have been able to play for 30 min. now not at all.

Got it working on ps4!

What I did was that I went to library->opened ffxiv psn window(read:didn't launch the game itself) went to dlc's, and from that tiny icon I downloaded heavensward again(even though it was installed already).
Once that was ready I launched game from notifications->downloads->ffxiv:heavensward.
I tried everything before this(deleting character files, restarting my router, reorganized database of ps4 etc.), but this one worked finally for me.

I just completely shut down my ps4 and the version check worked again and downloaded patch 3.90 to the download folder.

Every one has posted its work around, here is mine: connect my ps4 to my cellphone and complete the update of the launcher form there, once completed change the connection to my home internet connection and its downloading the patch now...thank you for nothing useless SE support -_-

I just got mine to work. I'm on PC and from other posts online it sounds like it might be due to Windows 10. What I did is I went to Documents/My Games/Final Fantasy XIV - A Realm Reborn/FFXIV_BOOT.cfg. You can open it with Notepad, and changed the value on BootVersionCheckMode from 0 to 1. Saved, restarted the computer, and launched with "Run as Administrator." None of these worked on their own for me, but the trifecta finally allowed my launcher to update.
