Unable to complete version check

Got it working on ps4!

What I did was that I went to library->opened ffxiv psn window(read:didn't launch the game itself) went to dlc's, and from that tiny icon I downloaded heavensward again(even though it was installed already).
Once that was ready I launched game from notifications->downloads->ffxiv:heavensward.
I tried everything before this(deleting character files, restarting my router, reorganized database of ps4 etc.), but this one worked finally for me.

I really hope this helps someone! I'm know your pain..

I just completely shut down my ps4 and the version check worked again and downloaded patch 3.90 to the download folder.

Every one has posted its work around, here is mine: connect my ps4 to my cellphone and complete the update of the launcher form there, once completed change the connection to my home internet connection and its downloading the patch now...thank you for nothing useless SE support -_-

I just got mine to work. I'm on PC and from other posts online it sounds like it might be due to Windows 10. What I did is I went to Documents/My Games/Final Fantasy XIV - A Realm Reborn/FFXIV_BOOT.cfg. You can open it with Notepad, and changed the value on BootVersionCheckMode from 0 to 1. Saved, restarted the computer, and launched with "Run as Administrator." None of these worked on their own for me, but the trifecta finally allowed my launcher to update.

If you having problem on PC i suggest this that i saw on reddid:

- Go to(your FFXIV game file):
\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn

Open this file: FFXIV_BOOT

Change this value here from 0 to 1:
BootVersionCheckMode 0

This fixed my pc version thanks

Still no luck on my end ARGH why is SE being DEAD SILENT about this alot of people are having issues do they care about their game at all?

Has anyone tried contacting them over Twitter Facebook or even customer service yet? At this point maybe someone who got in game can even bring it up with a GM. Just to get in contact with someone at SE.

I'm finally downloading the PS4 update now.. six and a half hours after servers have already gone up. I was continuing to try and find reasons why it wouldn't work and tried one more time before searching on here. Then, lo and behold, I didn't try anything drastic yet, and for whatever reason the launcher decided to download the latest build of May 31st. I have absolutely no idea why it just randomly started working but I'm still irritated over the ordeal.

Come on, SE. This kind of thing shouldn't happen. If you want PS4 players to be able to complete on a level playing field with PC users, you need to make sure we're on more equal footing. I don't know if this has to do with the fact that I'm a PS3->PS4 holdover, but issues like these are very bad, especially on patch days.

I still can't get the launcher to update. Nothing works, tried everything. Perhaps it's time to quit after 3 years now in june.

Apparently, I fixed I have the PS4 and PC versions.

There is a limit of how much a game can be saved on PS4. There are some files from all characters you have. Delete those file datas. Open space for the PS4 download more. I was 140/150 MB. There was lot of data from alt charas i made from a long time. But delete them and it will open space for upload/download.
