    Gil Rete for Relinquishing Plots

With housing reclamation, players gained a viable way to reclaim the Gil they'd put into their houses. However, they must wait 45 days (or more) to do so, and do not earn a single Gil if they relinquish their plot normally. It is time these two actions behaved the same way, and that both returned Gil to the former owner.

SE, please make it so that owners who relinquish their plots get the same amount returned as if they'd let their house expire. It's silly not to.

It does not cost gil to give up your plot of land. I've done so before, although that was about a week before christmas.

That wouldn't make it much of a gil sink. More of a 'termed investment with foreseeable loss.'

Housing is still supposed to be a gil sink and you only get the money back as compensation for the house being demolished and even then only for 35 days after it's destroyed. I can't really see them giving you the money if you choose to demolish, it just wouldn't make any sense as it's the biggest gil sink in the whole game.

Well, I do understand that it's meant to be a gil sink, but the fact that people are turning around and selling the plots means that people actually are treating it like a termed investment already. The fact that they're allowing people to reclaim their gil at all also means that if someone does want to treat it like an investment, they just need to wait out the reclamation period.

If someone can wait 45 days and get 80% of their gil back, why shouldn't someone willfully relinquishing their plot also get that gil?

There's multiple threads from people that say people have had warnings on their account from GMs for selling their houses. It seems to vary per region (NA more than EU) and it seems someone probably has to report them (advertising the house publicly via Party Finder is a sure fire way), but SE definitely aren't okay with it. So yes some people are doing this, but SE seem to be clamping down on it.

Getting the 80% back is compensation for having lost the house. If you *choose* to give up the house yourself that's another matter (and hence no money back). Obviously people will wait 45 days to get the money back, but that wasn't the intention of the compensation and at least right now it's an inconvenience to the person trying to beat the system and do that.

They won't do this it would be abused, people already sell houses and by giving gil back to the person it will not stop people from selling their give up rights, so person would then get money from player and money back from the system.
