Papalymo and Yda [SPOILER Discussion]

On topic:

So how long do you think until Papalymo and Yda finally reunit with the Scions? They been keeping the skepticism and disbelief stance for a while now about the Scions being clear of all charges and any news about the WoL journey through 3.0 and 3.1.

I get that they are still a bit defensive after what happened in 2.55 but to be staying with the Ala Mhigo Resistance for this long after hearing many news about what has been happening makes me wonder if they may be sticking with the Ala Mhigo Resistance until we finally go to them ourselves as we progress into 4.0 (sometime in 3.4 or 3.5) or until we begin 4.0 storyline.

This is a pretty solid idea. This gives a reason fo the WoL to head to ala Mhigo and final give the Garleans some shine as opponents.

While everyone is doing their part in Ishgard, dealing with WoD, and Primals, they're busy helping out the Ala Mhigan resistance.

They don't even bother letting the rest know that they're okay. The most that the Scions know is that the Ala Mhigan refugees helped their escape, but won't talk due to no longer trusting the Braves after the betrayal.

Eh, that's not fair to say, think about it from their perspective. What better way to move in the shadows than to pretend like you are dead/gone. As long as the enemy is unaware of them, they have the advantage. Sure they could reveal themselves to the other Scions to let them know they are ok, but by doing that they forfeit their trump card which is the fact that they are hidden.

do not forget that maybe (not saying is a fact) they have some suspiscions about some of the scions to be involved in some kind of double play.

Let not forget that we still have an unknown pawn in the game or rather that we are not too sure what he is doing, aka Urianger, so maybe Papa and Yda have chosen to remain in the shadows for that reason until they find out exactly what truely happened and who they can or cannot trust among their own kind.

I am with Airget in this though, I do believe they willingly and purposedly remain hidden to continue investigating.

I wish we had some more insight on Urianger's true role in all this, what he got promised and what his role is exactly and Relationship with the dark side (so to speak)

As for Papa & Yda, I do believe that we might have more info in this patch on what they intent to do.

I don't think they suspect one of the Scions to be a traitor yet. It appears more of a skepticism and disbelief about what is happening since they can not confirm themselves that Ilberd is no longer a threat and the WoL and Scions are clear of all charges.

Ilberd is still out there and as he said back in 3.0, he will do anything and sacrifice anyone to free Ala Mhigo from the Garlean Empire.

Of course the irony of this is that Ilberd and his followers are the wanted people now.

There's actually a fair chance they don't even know where the WoL & co. are, and if they're doing alright. Sometimes, in order to remain hidden, you have to sacrifice being informed yourself.
They were the first to be split from the group. We have no idea how they made it out. They're obviously not anywhere near Ishgard, so they're not involved with what's going on there in any way.

I'm thinking we'll join 'em once the whole 1000 years war in Ishgard is over.

I feel like we won't get any real information about them til 3.4. Maybe a teaser again, but not much else.

They definitely have a reason for staying with the Resistance, and I bet it has something to do with that masked man from 3.2. Whoever he is, he's probably really important and could be either a great ally come 4.0, or a main antagonist.

Darksteel-foil hat time, I personally think it may be...Gaius. And if it is...well, all the more reason for Yda and Papalymo to be hounding him...

But...that doesn't make him automatically an enemy...look at Nero, after all...

Also, if they are near Ala Mihgo, information from the city-states is probably scarce. Especially from Ishgard. Its possible they may have heard something about the WoL, but it may just be rumors and such reaching them, and chasing rumors may only hurt their efforts with the Resistance.

Papalymo or nothing. Love Yda also, i do not think it will be up until 4.0 however until we reunite.
There is more likely then not an actual reason why they are staying back and they may actually not know what happened to their leader..

Yda, Papalymo and the rest of the scions were betrayed and hunted, it kinda makes sense if they are sceptic about the WoL and the scions being cleared for treason. If I was in hiding and I heard words that it was oke to come out, I would be very wary. The Braves were very close to the Scions, so I reckon unless they meet a scion who tells them what is going on, they will stay in hiding. Afcourse its also possible that they know about what is going on in Ishgard, but decided to stay in Ala Mhigo for some reason.

Only thing that the previews have shown is, that Yda is the one that wants to stay with the rebels, so Papalymo stays aswell.
