Retainer Jobs.

There needs to be a bigger incentive to upgrade retainers from classes to jobs.There is nothing on my 8 retainers which I cannot gather or obtain using class instead of job so why bother changing? As such I doubt many people even make use of the feature which is a waste and I think personally it would be a good idea to make it worthwhile and giving the feature a better reason to be used.

The main reason for equipping a Job to your retainer is simply to allow them to equip Job-specific gear like AF, relic weapons and tome gear - remember that the likelihood of what your retainers find during a venture is directly determined by both their level and the ilevel of the gear you have equipped to them.

If you only keep your retainers geared in low level stuff or even don't bother equipping anything other than a level 1 weapon will just mean they will only ever bring back worthless junk like a lump of mudstone or a harbor herring. The higher their ilevel the better the chance of finding rare items, and thus setting a Job to them only helps that.

It is also usable for those players whose only (or at least first) job to level60 is one of the advanced jobs (DRK, AST and MCH). Those players earlier were not able to level their retainer past 50 in whatever class they had worked with until HW. I don't think the retainers being able to have jobs was never meant to be improvement as such. It was just added so people with this particular case would be on equal grounds as there was some complaints after HW launches, and the ability to wear job based Relic equipment is already a bonus.

I gave them jobs so the game would stop reminding me that they can be assigned jobs.
