    DPS Difference Between Tanks

Good Afternoon Everyone! I am coming to you in search of some information.

I am a "casual" player who enjoys tanking, I sincerely doubt I will ever shoot for world first or even do much savage if any. With that in mind I know any understand that all tanks are equally viable. I am just curious as to the extent of the difference between tank DPS, particularly between WAR and PLD (the two tanks I'm interested in the most, tried DRK but it just didn't feel right.) I know that PLD has lower DPS but by how much on average?

Generally accepted that WAR does more DPS than PLD. FFlogs does tell you how much DPS both tanks can push, but you need to account of DPS catering, bloating with more buffs (2 NIN, 2 MCH comp with AST buffs on 1 person is normally going to net a lot more DPS, coupled by having to not tank for the most part which allows the tank to just DPS). Not too mention that all of the top scorers are BiS or at least really close to it.

TLDR: WAR > DRK > PLD in DPS ranking in DPS stance.

I just want to add that most people let wars sit as OT from the start of the fights until they end, so generally wars will have noticeably more dps than plds. This however is not always the optimal setup in raids (check some of the recent threads about unchained and pld MT-ing for details). And in this raid tier (midas savage) all of the fights require tank swaps and/or tanking multiple enemies, so sometimes it's a matter of who pulls which boss instead of who's MT/OT
