Hello, friendly healer type here. I'm working on my anima weapon, so hitting up dungeons every day, multiple a day. I just want this to be a quick experience.

My problem lies in tanks. There are many problems I've had with tank players during my farm, but the one that bothers me the most is a tank will leave as soon as we enter a dungeon, leaving us stranded in this dungeon for 30-40+ minutes waiting for someone to fill that job.

I've reached a point, where its driving me crazy. Its very hard to do dungeons without a tank. Its a struggle and is very reliant on my dps party members to be better than the average player. I've had to heal 10 dungeons completely tank-less just for some poetics and eso in the last 2 days alone. and I'm just at a loss on what to do. Do I really have to level up a tank job, learn to play it and gear up just to get the anima weapon for the class I want to play? Please help me tank community, why is my experience with tank players in this game so awful?

for reference: I'm only queueing for amdapor keep (hard), wanderer's palace (hard), keeper of the lake, anti tower, and lost city of amdapor (hard).

Imo there is nothing wrong with these dungeons and are all pretty quick to do, if the tank keeps up a good pace.

That really sucks, man. I've seen that happen a lot, and tanks especially are unpunished by it, because in 30 minutes they can just requeue and get in instantly. Usually if a tank does it, it's because they got an instance they really would rather not have to do (I've not done it here yet, but I may have been guilty a few times in WoW).

The best thing you can do is find a pocket tank, or a few. See if there's anyone in your FC who wants to chain dungeons with you, or ask in /shout. Or even make a party in party finder asking for a group to go with. If you take out the randomness of it, people are a lot less likely to bail without warning.

Have to agree here. I like pugging but this is one of the risks you take. The only way around it is to find a solid group of friends or FC-members willing to run dungeons with you regularly.

Tanks have done this BS for the last 2.5 years I've played this game. Unfortunately, I don't ever see it changing.

For some reason, that role seems to attract the most self-centered people in the game.

If tank leaves at the begining, just leave as well and requeue. As long as you're not the first person to leave there's no penalty and it'll probably be faster than waiting for a tank to queue in progress.

Zodfolt i'm sorry to hear this is happening.Although i have noticed a large increase in this situation over the last few weeks.
Personally if i am in a run as a dps i'll give a minute or so for a new tank to come.If one doesn't come i'll leave the instance switch to tank and try get back into the same instance.
If you are having no luck in df though i suggest even trying to get a party through pf.Especially if you do it at a time when there is a lot of players online you may find players with the same needs as yourself.Or maybe even some bored players willing to help.

I've made it a personal rule as a tank that when I step into duty finder, I will finish whatever dungeon I'm dealt. All the times I've wanted to instantly drop because I'm given something I hate are substantial (I've started referring to DREX as "Antitower Roulette", because that's all I ever get.). But I don't. I only leave when RL stuff happens and I absolutely can't finish the dungeon, and I always feel guilty about it.

I guess that's why I never see bad tanks. Because I'm too self-centred to see my problems.
