I agree that they should make the crafting more fun, but they should not lower the grind getting max rank craft is not something that should be handed out.

uhh just because luck is involved doesnt mean skill or knowlege is useless. You ever heard of poker? blackjack?
no currently you cant make HQ everytime, but yeah how well you play the game influences your chance of a good result. however regardless of whether getting hq is skill/knowledge or whatever, leveling is so completely not, and it takes you longer, add to that no matter how well you play the game, you essentially get the same exp no matter what.
so yeah the op has a point
Do I really need to link the quote where Yoshi-P said that you'd be able to have automated+mini-game in the future?
Ok, here.
We're still going around the issue that spending time helping a synth and getting better quality/HQ has minimal benefits for the purposes of gaining XP.

Right. In 2013 it will be good (maybe.) Awesome news.
Crafting was good at release (ui lag aside) because it was actual gameplay. You had to network to acquire mats for the grind and you had to play the market wards in order to sell shit or use YG to make gil to buy mats, and there just seemed like there was more to it. It was still a painful grind, but the process seemed more involved.
Now that everything is automated (such as market ward search and you dont need to do anything other than buy mats) and there is no need for doing anything other than spamming enter, they might as well automate that aspect too, I guess.
I'm just saying they know what we want. Why is everyone so f'ing cynical and hysteric? Can't you just understand that the current system they're working with is shit and they're doing the best they can to make this version better with a concomitant aim of creating the next version?
If crafting were not a grind and a time-sink, then everyone would just go into crafting and we wouldn't even need an AH. I actually like the current mini-game, but I can get how people don't like it and find Yoshi-P's solution suitable.
But, of course, let's all just incessantly bitch about shit that has been addressed.
I agree with OP that the current mini-game for synthesis is really repetitive and would benefit to have a better interactivity. I understand it becomes less boring when doing synthesis for HQ items, but still, it wouldn't hurt to have a fun mini-game.
Can't wait to see the new synthesis plans for 2.0
LOL cash shop! SE's way to tell their player how they appreciate them... pull the carrot and empty your pockets $$$
And to those who support it: you are kicking yourselves. -- We just need to sit back and laugh at people with cash shop items.
(Marvelous economics IQ test!)
So addressing a problem is as easy as saying, "Wait until 2.0" You'll have to excuse me for my pessimism, but I've heard that line in every MMO I've played. I've been playing and secretly rooting for this game for over a year, but my patience has worn thin.I'm just saying they know what we want. Why is everyone so f'ing cynical and hysteric? When I bitched about issues in beta or early release I got the same damn response -- "Just give them some more time" was the mantra of the community, and SE "asks for your continued patience" while they fix it which will be "soon." And now the community is telling people with gripes that it's been addressed, but it won't actually be addressed until 2013. Are you f'kin kidding me?
No, I'm not f apostrophe kin kidding you. Every MMO you've played has had a 2.0 released after a horrible launch and a development team change? Is this the only MMO you've played? So addressing a problem is as easy as saying, "Wait until 2.0" You'll have to excuse me for my pessimism, but I've heard that line in every MMO I've played. The director himself said that. That is good enough for me to know that something will be done.
