    I really hope the dev's are taking this topic to heart. Gathering, IMO, is fine as is (besides a few little tweaks), but synthesis needs an overhaul. I would prefer an automated system like XI's. Let HQ's be made with HQ mats, and the rest normal quality. It'd be pretty work intensive to make a minigame to tie in with quality and such.

    I agree with OP as well. Crafting makes me fall asleep atm lol.

    IMO, its not even the odds, or how much luck is or is not involved. Part of the problem is that is hard not to compare XP from crafting to gringing.

    No group benefit for crafting.
    No linking for crafting.
    No XP chain for crafting.

    there are just so many ways you can boost XP in the DoW/M classes then DoH/L that its ridiculos.

    I wouldn't worry about the mini game aspect of it, if the system now offered enough XP to feel your progressing, but it takes a significant amount ot time more to level DoH them DoM/W even though your both grinding on the same thing over and over (DoM/W on killing mobs, DoH on synthing a certain item) yet you get so little return per synth that you do per kill as a DoW/M.

    I thought about this as well. I was actually mad for quite a bit. Until I remembered: owait, we have engineering manuals to mitigate some of the time sink. It still takes forever, though.

    Now would be a good time to implement the original team's idea of crafting a giant cake together.

    100% HQ chance is coming if you're crafting with HQ mats.
    With this HQ gear after 1.20 isn't anymore luck based, but mats quality based

    yeah and it is the most ignorant thing that has been changed to date. this does nothing but benefit the people that botted to max level. between this and the way to attach materia the crafting system is going backwards

    It was a combination of LUCK and SKILL before. Now it's just a combination of nothing except PURE GRIND.

    LOL fail idea.

    Did you read the interviews? There's a detail in there that Yoshi would like 2 modes of synthing: one for standard, and one for more in depth. The standard one would be instantaneous, you may not even kneel for it, and there'd be a small chance of HQ. The second one would probably be the same as it is now, using abilities and choosing the best course of action to attempt to create an HQ, or succeed in what would otherwise be a difficult synth.

    Me? I would kinda like the idea of synthing being more like battles. Progress would occur automatically like with Auto-Attack, but you can step in with abilities to ensure success. Bonus exp for HQing, bonus for combos. And as with normal Levequests, let us be able to either incur less anima for teleporting to the delivery spot, or pay extra gil for an NPC to deliver the goods for us, or after achieving a certain quest/level in the craft's respective guild, you get your own Delivery Chocobo.

    Stuff like that. That'd be nice.
