People fail to realize that the cap in XI started at 50 and there was limited content to that point before the raises came to 75 aside from missions which could be done in between just as in XIV. I am sure when XIVs cap rises, there will be more content to go with it. An MMO is never complete but whining that it takes little time to hit 50 now on a nigh admitted incomplete game is pointless. Maybe when 2.0 comes out, this argument might be valid but until then what's the point of creating content for a world that in a little less than a year won't exist?

Yes, make it much harder to level, but please wait till I get my 2 last classes to 50 before any changes!

if they make it steeper to 50 then i dont want to imagine how grueling it would be when they raise the level cap.

At the comment that they say that they need more "mid level content"

That's kind of neglecting the future of the game, isn't it?

Level 50, if this game is to go the route FFXI and every other FF game does, IS midgame content in the grand scheme of things.

They already have level 25 version of Ifrit, and a level 25 dungeon grind to go through. Not to mention guild and faction levels at all levels. So content for lower levels is there for those who want to enjoy it, but you're likely not going to find many others that want to specifically be forced to slow down so you have more people to jump into the low-level gear.

The meat and potatoes of this game should be directed at the current level cap, because of the inevitability of the level rise. It might seem like endgame now, but this is midgame, at best. And we haven't even gotten into the things they've listed for 2.0.

The level curve is fine where it is at. Content can be filled in at all levels, and if they want, they could impose level caps for lower level content (though it might behoove them to introduce the LVLSync system into FFXIV if they do) if players want to sample it. So that they can help others with lower level content if they wish.

But there is no point in making the leveling difficulty harder, period. The grind should not be the point of the game, so much as enjoying the content that's there while you are in persuit of your personal goals. Elongating the leveling process does not accomplish this.

I'm in support for more low to mid level quests and content, but it shouldn't come with a restriction on how fast you can level. To put bluntly, raising the level curve is the same as the fatigue system, and we all know how well THAT was received.

leave this crap for lv51+ & version 2.0. lv40-50 is already a pain in the behind just aoe'ing mobs in the SH's or worse soloing.

The one thing that should be kept in mind regarding the leveling curve is that chances are the level we have now is not the final cap. Once all the levels are in the game the curve may seem more appropriate. Granted this may be a ways off but I don't see that as reason to change the way the game works now.

I personally like the less focus on a large grind and more focus on fun things to do. I would like even more end game content. In my opinion having a smaller grind and more end game content is the way to go. That way you build your rep on your performance instead of just how much time you were able to sink into a job.

    No, you're just a douche. I kid.

The typical casual player has become so concerned with having everything now he can't see the journey being as important as the destination. Once upon a time, being casual didn't involve having to dumb things down nor requiring everything now, but obviously no longer the case since the average casual player is always screaming about how everything's so hard or it takes too long to do.

    Yea, funny start.

And you are right, most casual games are made that way to keep ppl in the game as the ppl playing have no dedication to any one game. But the ones i think you thinking about are the ones who feel like they should be just as good as the ppl who put more time in the game as them and don't understand what really makes the other players that good. They think if they had the same gear and/or if the content was easier that i would put them on the same level. On the other side you have the hardcore players who think that the amount time you spent in the game is a way of gauging someone's skill, which can be true but with something like this it is way better for it to be optional because then you that know the player really enjoys what they are doing.

Maybe i just been playing games for to long but for me the destination is when you ding a level, every level because thats the whole point in leveling it's not just to level, it should never be just to level, it should be for the new skills, stats, new gear, and the new stuff you get to do. so the journey, as i see it, is the process of gaining exp between levels where there is nothing new to enjoy, just a step you need to go though to get to more new (fun?) stuff.
