Lost with SMN, specially with tomes and raid gear meld

Good night, everyone!

I got back to FFXIV at the end of april, playing everyday, buy just doing the daily/weekly stuff, like roulette and Alexander clears (at normal)

I'm at ilvl 219 atm, gearing up with tome of lore and alex midan stuff...

I'm stuck with 665 tomes of lore, 2k tomes of esoterics and 50k company seals =(

Also, I noticed that midan gear have materia slots, but I have no idea of what I should meld into those slots...

Any summoner around want to give this nub smn a lil help?

What should I do, what should I buy with tomes/seals, etc...

If I remember correctly the priority is Crit>Det>SS (!!!Wherein a grade IV SS materia is better than a grade IV det materia but a grade V det materia is better than a grade V SS materia, so if you want to meld Grade IV's you go with crit>SS>Det and if you meld grade V materia it's Crit>Det>SS)
I assume you're not raiding, so at least I would always aim to have at least the accuracy cap of the current extreme trial. Not sure what it is right now in patch 3.2.
So yea Crit>Det>SS while maintaining a certain amount of accuracy.

As to which pieces to get, sadly can't help you there. We're about to get some 220+ gear probably in the upcoming patch too (ASSUMING new 24raid will drop 230 gear and maybe a Gobcoat and later on Gobtwine to upgrade lore gear to 240) at that point you'll just get what has a higher ilvl. I wouldn't fret too much over it at this point.
Or you just go the simple route and get full lore gear.

Questions regarding gear can easily be solved with ariyalas webpage http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/SMN When you go to the BiS solver you can also see the stat weights which simply is the higher the better.
So best to meld in materia slots is as already said Det>Crit>SS. Dont meld accuracy. You are already over the top with 690. You will need roughly 600 for A8s (found in dark knight forum as well as on reddit http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...e?daysprune=-1)
For melding i would only grade 5 materia in 230 or higher (depending on how fast you can get ilvl 240 equipment). Anything else use grade 4 which you can farm at the beast tribes

Concerning your gear, first thing should be the weapon (it will raise your dmg lvl the most - easy to get is the one for lore and midas 4 wheels). For the rest its up to you. I guess you should choose 230 equipment to reduce your accuracy

I'll be able to buy the ilvl 220 weapon next week, I got 6 gears atm =D it asks 7 >_<

I'll meld some lvl4 materias, so I can save gil for the 230/240 lvl 5 materias =D

About esoterics and company seals, anything good to buy with them?

Eso gets you i200 gear which will do fine filling in the gaps whilst you collect lore/midan gear. company seals i just use for ventures etc.

As for melds, as people said before prioritise crit, I personally go for ss over det as the secondary. The dps increase is marginal, and you get a lot more utility out of SS, for example getting a cast off before dodging an aoe. It also boosts dot damage which is nice.
