    The mystery of quick synth?

One of my completionist tendencies is going after the checkmarks in the main recipe lists. I had everything more or less set from lvl 1 to 50 so all I have left are the lvl 51 - 60 recipes for each class.

I knew Weaver was going to be a pain in the rear, so I was hoping quick synth would help with some of my bulk crafting, and it has, sort of. But how does it work and is there anyway to see the rough percentage chance of success?

I dressed up as much as I could for lvl 59, so I'm sitting at 573 Craftsmanship and 556 Control. For Rainbow Cloth, that's one Careful Synthesis II and done. Well, it would be.

So I let quick synth fly on 61 (yes, that many) cloths only to find that it had botched 7 of them. While I'm out gathering mats again, just how is this failing when I have a one-press-and-done skill available?

Quick Synth has a high correlation to your Craftsmanship.

I'm not sure of the exact formula, but the higher your Craftsmanship, the lower your % of you botching.

It's not a 100% thing. So if you're undergeared, it's best to craft them manually.

    As I understand it.

It goes by your craftsmanship, as hq chances go by your control. The higher your craftsmanship the less likely you are to botch. But CS is a weaver skill you learn that gives auto 100% success. Autocraft goes by the standard synthesis moves, which have a chance to fail even if they are 1 and done. You can get that craftsmanship high enough to basically make it 100% but unless they changed it, it will cap somewhere around 99% success. It's the chance you take in mass production. Still saves you an immense amount of time when hq isn't a concern.

IIRC, once my craftsmanship reached about 700, I could quick synth any item lv60 or lower at 100% rate.

I've quick synthed hundreds of thousands of items with much higher stats than required, and can say if it isn't 100% at decently high stats compared to what you're making, then it is so damn near it to not make any difference. I never fail lower level quick synth unless my gear breaks. Ever. Not even once.

positive you did not have a piece of gear at 0% and not be aware of it at that time? Because I have had it happen, walked away from PC and there was that one peice that caused the fail.

CP is also a major factor. When my accessories hit 0% fails come flying in, even with craftsmanship well over the recipes.

You might be on to something. I recall one of my rings went crunch around the moment I had those 7 fails. Otherwise... I was going to say I went 95/95 on the rainbow threads I did before that.
