Garuda = Very Attractive.

Moogle = Fugly pile of "Cute". (I would be a fan of Moogles if they were the ones from FF12, though. Fuzzy pom-poms, FTW!)





P.S. The FFXI Garuda is far more attractive than the current XIV design, obviously. You can see why I'm such a big fan.

All the videos of people beating I've seen people are receiving like 120-200+. I am receiving like 20-30, I have a good connection and there's no reason for it.

I agree. While the subject of Garuda is somewhat off topic, I still think it's a worthwhile subject to discuss.

Why does Garuda look like she's wearing a chastity belt along with body armor? Somehow, I get the feeling that the devs are "self-censoring" themselves into a corner regarding character designs. This game has more mature themes than most MMO's out there, act like it!

I've never been a fan of stilettos, so for the XIV Garuda I think it's a design that really detracts from the "avian" motif that is present in FFXI Garuda. At least in XI Garuda's design, her entire design flows together as if she's the wind itself, whereas XIV Garuda is just built like a cobbled-together tank with no sense or rhyme to the motifs she is supposed to represent.

To be honest, this is one example where I would have preferred they had copied XI Garuda and tweaked her to have more detail in XIV.

P.S. However, considering the Ixali's brutality in XIV lore, her current design is probably meant to reflect this.

I agree, but Garuda in XIV is intended to be more intimidating, I'm guessing, since each primal is tied to a beastman tribe this time around (they weren't in XI). In that respect XIV Garuda wins.

You know you can make a female character look very attractive and comely, but after you learn more about it, she can be very downright bone-chilling, right? It's just a matter of finding the right levers to pull in the process.

Like, say, having her look like one who would bed you in an instant, but turns out to be a man-eater (literally).

In the proper frame of mind for Garuda in XIV, one could say the Primal is a hawk, while the Ixali are flightless dodos ripe for the pickings.
