I'm not ashamed to admit that I got the idea to do it from that very image. That came up when you were revived in demon souls, right? Been like a year since I played that.![]()
So you necrobump your own thread saying its relevant then immediately start derailing it?
Removed due to size restrictions and possible seizures risks.
Yea, if no ones been talking about the topic it's cause they have nothing else to say about it. To put it bluntly just let people play as they like, I mean sure you enjoy actually earning your xp, well you know once you hit lv 50 you can't really leech spiritbonding you'll have to be more active in bonding your gear to create materia. So if people want to burn to 50 they still have to take the time to learn their class and if they want spiritbond gear they'll have to be more active since I would guess people wouldn't take kindly to afkers in a level 50 party.
I don exactly approve of the PL concept myself so I haven't used it personally nor have I taken the time to setup xp parties, I just take my own time doing levels and killing a group of mobs solo when I see fit to obtain materials for crafting. If PL is really such an issue then just find a group of people that won't use it and static with them.
You can't expect every person in a party you randomly gather to not want to take the easiest route, everyone wants to enjoy the high end content and fight Ifrit but some would rather just get their then "earn" it. Though you never know that these same people who have been PLed may one day PL their own friends so that they can enjoy the content faster. When you consider how this game was before and is now, the mindframe of most people is udnerstandable as to why they would want to reach 50 asap.
Before the game was pretty restrictive with the fatigue system and random xp variable. While the random xp variable was easily fixed fatigue still plagued the game. What this meant was that if you have a friend who wanted to play you would have to wait 1-2 months before they reached lv 50 in one class if they played on occassion and not til fatigue hit.
With the changes made it's only natural that newcomers and friends would want to be able to play with one another asap and enjoy the high end content that their is to offer. If you really wanta fix to the PL concept all you need to do is create other methods of gaining xp once you reach 50 which would require everyone to focus and work on the cause. Though they already have a concept like this in the matter of materia. So ya, it's really to each their own, just let people play how they'd like to play, if you dont' ilke it don't play with them, if it's sucha big deal make a static lol.
Not this again.

I didn't read the whole thread but I agree to the OP somewhat.
I actually don't have a problem with power leveling at all. What I do have a problem with is how it's been implemented. As it is now, people who want to get a small group together and fight monsters of an equal level can be potentially shafted when a power leveling group comes in and claims all the mobs. I'm fine for people shooting their way to 50. I'm not fine with people stealing mobs for PL reasons while others are just trying to play the game at their own pace. Ever since 1.19 I've been running into this kind of behavior more than what was expected.
Again, I'm fine with PLing, but the incentive to overcamp lower level mobs is too strong. Even for people that don't want to get to 50 you have alts just sitting there spiritbonding and making materia. Even if every player becomes 50 tomorrow there's still a reason to PL in the lower level camps.
I think if the incentive was switched from blasting away lower level mobs to killing higher level mobs the issue would be reduced while still maintaining the viability to gain experience and spiritbond.
If the focus was shifted to killing higher level mobs it would only encourage PL'ing. Right now in a large party you get a bunch of bonuses with near-level bonus, chain, and links, and it makes partying pretty fun and rewarding because you have to focus on multiple enemies that are challenging but not outright overpowering to get an ideal XP rate. The combo system might do something about AOE spam and make it either more involving to do or less ideal. Hell it might shift the focus up to higher level enemies.
IMO I would just like a larger number of camps with smaller level variations. Duoing with my friend yesterday there was no camps I could find through maps or on our own that had solely Level 33-34 enemies bunched together. The 33-36 camps we went to would spawn more 35-36's than we liked that would overpower us if we got more than one whereas we could take two or three 33-34's with little issue. We had found a few areas in Cedarwood with a ton of enemies but they would pop at level 27ish to 34 which is reaaaaally lame.
