Void Ark gear

Hi all,

I did a search for this subject, but didn't see one specifically, so I am asking in its own thread. I apologize in advance if this has already been addressed.

I have noticed that I cannot do anything with the Void Ark equipment I no longer need. They can't be converted into materia. they cannot be desynthed. They cannot be sold for seals with the Grand Company. They cannot be sold or traded.

Does this gear have any purpose I'm missing? Or do we simply throw it out once we have stronger gear?

This will probably change with patch 3.3 next week so I would just hold onto the extra gear til then. We will probably be able to turn it in for GC seals and desynth it.

I was also surprised about this...i couldn't do anything with it either, i did outfit one of my retainers with a full set of whm VA gear, other VA gear i just ended up throwing away.

SE most likely given the gear there is still useful doesn't want people rolling on gear for the reasons you've outlined. With the new raid coming that gear will be less valuable for gear by those in need of leveling/raising their gear level so they'll change it.

Wasn't it the same with poetic gears? We got better gears, but cuz it was still a new patch. They didn't allow it to be trade cuz was still useful for any new gear that could get a lot of poetic since they uncapped it.

You will eventually be able to trade it in for GC seals, its been this way for a while, the newest gear is not tradable so players who want it for purposes other than seals have a greater chance of obtaining.

It's typically two major patches before raid/tome gear can be exchanged for GC seals and desynthed. Void Ark was introduced in 3.1, so that means 3.3.

3.4 will allow us to do the same for lore and midas gear.
