    Feedbacking "mentors"?

    Hi. I have a question...

In my MSQ (i.e. first) Castrum run, I had a bit of a problem. TLDR, our tank who had the mentor flag was a monster butt. I wasn't being stupid, but the guy was expecting mass pull/tome farming speed and quality out of me when it was my first time even running the instance, on "fresh 50" gear while fighting the Cutscene Monster to boot, and being quite "expressive" about not meeting his expectations.

I have the guy's name written down, but I'm not going to share it here because I'm not a name-and-shamer. Is there any way in game to feedback mentors, other than reporting for harassment?

Condolences. Aye, mentors are unfortunately not apparently held to a higher standard than others and there's no process we can see to appropriately revoke the status in these situations. However, this most definitely sounds like something you should report as harassment. At the very least, they're effectively no longer a mentor when they're bad enough to get banned and unable to play at all. =)

Alot of us are in agreement that the mentor system needs a massive adjustment. Your experience with the system and some of it's denizens is just another example of many.

You can try reporting them for verbal abuse.

Also, although the behavior you describe is in no way whatsoever excusable and it's wrong to actually let anyone bully you into rushing when you don't want to ... you may nevertheless enjoy the Praetorium more if you don't use Duty Finder for matching and instead go only with people that are happy with taking the time for you to watch the cutscenes in proper context and so forth. You can try a Party Finder ad (there's even a checkbox just for no cutscene skipping) and/or the option to go in without level sync and not requiring eight people. I know I helped two new friends around 50 do this with only them and my 60 paladin. Was remarkably fun and challenging but doable.

You can definitely report him for this, though I wouldn't expect any harsh penalties if it's just the first or second time he's done it. Btw, don't be afraid of making long posts. You can edit the post afterwards to write as much as you want.

As a mentor, im not a mind reader. If it is your first time this late in the game, you need to speak up and say you don't know what your doing. Even on "new" dungeons for first time player the games doesn't change all that much. It's always the same pull group > fight > kill move on. Only difficulties is if your gear isn't up to snuff. When new dungeons come out all players take their time and "learn" dungeons and speed. "Old" dungeon are extremely boring to veteran players, even mentors. So sorry ahead of time. While I'd rather speed run, if a player really opens up and asks for help I will slow down. Just keep in mind the difference between a speed run and slow run is 15-30min versus 50-80min. Times that through multiple duty finders on a single night means a ton of wasted time.
