So the chocobo fighting arena in Foundation in Coerthas is pretty much just there for its own sake. You guys think they'll ever actually do anything with it? I mean, we already have chocobo racing.

It sounds a bit barbaric, like cock fighting. I'm sure there would be some illegal chocobo fights around, maybe not a place for how the writers want our warriors of light though :/.
Yeah but they've already said that the Vundu/Vanu already hold cock fighting w/ the Paissa. In fact, they even have you deliver one to them for that intended purpose.
I'm still waiting for them to use the Colluseum in Ul'Dah to hold 1v1 fights.
The arena IS used in cutscenes. I believe that's where the player's and Aphinaud's trial-by-combat took place. For Blacksmiths, this is where your client had the chance to regain her house's honor in the Grand Tournament by pitting herself against a brute twice her size, wielding the blade you'd crafted for her. For Leatherworkers, you get to demonstrate the quality of your gear by dressing an NPC up in it and letting a bear maul him for a while there. (That's... actually pretty metal.)
Honestly, the place gets a lot more love than a lot of the unique locations in this game. XD
You mean that would be babaric in a world in which we already pitch our oversized cocks into battle on a regular basis and have them fight to their death,
only to resummon them to let them experience that sweet sensation yet again?
A world, in which we send freshly hatched baby chicks into brutal fights against mini monsters, wild animals and puppets designed to kill?
Yeah, letting an adult bird fight another bird of fairly even strength sure sounds horrible in comparison.
