People don't know how to take criticism anymore, and bad play is rewarded with with a coddling mentality. Yes, this is a casual game for the most part - that doesn't mean people need to walk on eggshells in fear of getting reported for pointing out things. This whole 'please don't say anything even slightly negative' mentality that we seem to be going towards and the devs seemingly pushing towards it is creating a disturbing trend.
If I could play as an Amal'Ja, I'd easily use my Fantasia to do so. Would be so worth it, but we all know it would take too much time/effort for any perceivable reason to do so other than the fans want it.
If they do end up going for a more beastly looking race, I sincerely hope they allow the women to be as fierce and monstrous as the men instead of forcing them to be "pretty" once again. I was so disappointed with the Au Ra.
I do not think so, SE has made it very clear that they do not want to remodel outfits to include no human body. Viera is basicly a human with bunny feets, but I reckon if we were to get Viera, they would have normal hyur feet and not the bunny ones.
They're cute I guess. It's just they look like you're subbing out kitty parts for bunny parts with a side of potato. I can't really tell if those are paws or normal feet but ya, I'm assuming the latter.
I feel compelled to post this.
SE if you have no plans for anything besides enhanced cosplay, why must you play with my heart like this? ;~;
I would like to see ronsos make an appearance

There are three big reasons why it probably won't happen.
The first, as has been stated many times in this thread now, is the additional effort it would take to redesign not only new armor, but all existing armor, as well, to fit the new body type. The "Bestial" race would need to be very similar in shape to existing races to mitigate that.
The second, as has been touched on a few times in this thread now, is that the devs have a perception (possibly true, possibly not) that a beastial race would not be popular enough to justify going through all this effort. While there's no denying that there's a demographic who would love a beastial race (this thread wouldn't exist otherwise!), is it really significant, or just a vocal minority?
A third reason is the fact that one of the central story elements of this game is the division between the Beastmen and the Spoken races. While some of the Spoken races have animalistic traits (cat ears, scales), the division between them and the Beastmen is still very obvious. If races similar to Ronso or Bangaa were introduced, why would they be considered Spoken rather than Beastmen? Frankly, color an Amal Jaa blue, and you pretty much have a Ronso! And yes, the new race WOULD need to be Spoken; the entire FFXIV plotline revolves around this assumption, and asking for a separate "Beastman" path through the storyline would be a frankly ridiculous load on the developers.
