Is a less humanoid race impossible?

I'm sorry if this has been mentioned before but I just got back from a long hiatus and would like some input.

I like the Au Ra. As a matter of fact I changed to an Au Ra immediatly on release on another character, but to be honest I was hoping for something a little less...human?

I'm a big fan of the more monstrous races of Final Fantasy. I don't mean like the Viera but more like the Bangaa. With how gear and body shapes work (Where did the butts go?) is it impossible to ever see a less humanoid race in any future expansions?
