    About Ozma....

I am excited as all hell to see Ozma in Weeping City but at the same time given the casual nature of the content people who never have heard of of fought Ozma will not be getting a true representation of the terrifying power Ozma is known for from Final Fantasy IX. Although in context it taking 24 people to kill him technically does him justice since its extremely unlikely to kill him with a party of 4 like in FF9. My question is would it be possible for us to see Ozma again after Weeping City and fight him at his true unforgiving unrelenting terrifying power we all know and fear through Mistrals Ballad or something?

    I don't know...

Geometry: the Boss, is already terrifying enough.

Even if they made an Extreme version of Ozma it'd have to be heavily modified. Somehow Lv5 Death & Lv4 Holy being cast on a party of lvl60 players wouldn't be fun.

    *Fight begins*
    -Ozma casts Lv5 Death-
    *Everyone dies*

    XD

FF9 Ozma was basically an RNG wipe-fest where the boss got multiple turns per each PC turn. It was a bad boss. Like, kinda fun in a "what, really???" way, but bad.

For being a super boss though seems kinda trivial to be put into a 24man content that is easily cleared. Plus a way they could handle Lv5 death is having a field that saps your level temporarily to 59 or such?

Ozma wasn't that bad once you got past it's first attack. Throw a tent at it; gives it all kinds of status ailments without being able to resist them. Silenced and Blinded Ozma is a joke.

It was a superboss in FFIX due to FFIX lore. FFXIV has its own lore that defines it's bosses differently.

Well, in order to get past his pre-emptive Doomsday attack, at least one character had to have shadow protection, otherwise it was a very short fight. In contrast to your statement, this is the easiest part of the battle. This is a scripted part of the fight, and the only non-random attack Ozma does. Coming prepared for it allowed you to begin the fight with your strongest attacks since you force Ozma to waste a turn by coming in with shadow protection.

Ozma was made so difficult that the designers added a couple of options to weaken him. There is the tent as you mentioned, and there was the dark matter, or whatever it was called that takes away his ability to absorb shadow damage. Each reduced his difficulty drastically. If you wanted the full challenge, you needed to beat him without those aids.

Preparing for the battle beforehand also could greatly weaken him, as there was also the 'friendly monsters' quest by which completing it would deactivate Ozma's Shadow absorption and thus Doomsday would no longer heal him but damage him (along with other Shadow elemental attacks), and that it also allowed the player to attack him with regular physical attacks (which he was otherwise incapable of being hit by).

Either way, this is clearly not meant to be the exact same battle, but much like the Gilgamesh battles, have similar ideas and the basic 'feel' of the fight, given FFXI and XIV are two totally different games with different battle systems and mechanics, it's not surprising. I'm just excited an FFIX boss is appearing, given FFIX is one of my favourite FF games.
