Storyline dungeon Antitower question.

My question is why a story-line dungeon has such a high ilvl requirement?
I've only done story-line and leveling quests and skipped the side stuff because it did not interest me. I only have ONE duty roulette unlocked.
Can I remedy this situation with out a ridiculous amount of grinding and back-tracking?

Well, there are alternatives to dungeon grinding and roulettes, but the trouble is they would take a bit longer, depending on how hard you do it - the vanuvanu daily quests and Rank A and S Hunts reward Eso tomes so that is something you can do in addition to a dungeon or two. As well, the Clan Centurio Daily Hunt rewards Centurio Seals which can redeem rather cheaply for gear formerly purchased with Law tomes, but that is slightly lower in ilvl than the Eso gear and thus on it's own wouldn't be sufficient for the Antitower. But with a couple of pieces of Eso gear you should be able to clear the ilvl requirement for it.

I have two pieces of ESO gear already. I'm sitting at Ilevel 159 right now.

Some of the side story quests unlock major content and help you maintain relevant gear to where you are in the main scenario.

Take the quest "Sky Pirates" at The Pillar x13, y11. This leads to the raid Void Ark which drops item level 200 armor pieces, and in the patch one week from now the questline continues with the next raid The Weeping City of Mhach.

If you have any gil, replace your lowest item level equipment with higher level gear from the market board.

Well, I can't do Void ark yet due to the same reason I can't do Antitower. Still, I can see about replacing some things, but stuff is damn expensive on my server. I'm not a very good at making gil, lol.

Then I think the simplest option available is to just repeat the lv60 dungeons you do have access to, for more Esoterics gear, replacing your most outdated gear slots first and working up from there.

If you don't have access to the Lv50 roulette yet, it might be fun to go back and complete the old dungeons you missed to get that roulette open. Completing the lv50 roulette on a lv60 job rewards Esoterics.

Right thanks for the help, still I don't get the logic of putting that high of a wall on the storyline quests. Though I doubt I'll get an answer to that one.

From an ARR point of view, the later story quests required ilevel 90 gear, which was 40 levels higher then level 50 gear. It's much the same thing this time.

The Law gear and the upgrade materials to get them to ilevel 180 are available for Centurio Seals ... I used this method to get most of the gear that I still didn't have. The Sky Pirate gear (185) can be purchased on the Market Board. It can be expensive, but if you have gil it'll cut down the time.

You can also get Esoterics gear from the daily trial/dungeons, using the Seals for the stuff you haven't got just yet.

Your ilvl is high enough to unlock 2 of the 4 level 60 roulette dungeons now if you havent already(the last 2 are 170). They both reward eso and lore tomestones for completion(as does aetherochemical which you did for the storyline already), along with dropping lvl 160 gear(some of which must be an upgrade for you). Leveling roulette is 100 eso per day if done at level 60, and the level 50 dungeon roulette is 120 more(worth unlocking if you havent) plus 60 more from trials. In your situation, i would upgrade first your weapon to the best you can get(anima relic quest maybe? lvl 200 doesnt take a ton of work), then upgrade your lowest level pieces first to get the best ilvl boost. You might be a bit less efficient in the highest level content then someone who upgraded the most important items first, but it wont matter in most groups and once you can DO the higher ilvl content you can get caught up much faster.

The in game logic would be... i guess... that the enemies are tougher so the guardian of the tower wont let you in until she can tell you can handle it? Im guessing here. The irl logic is probly that this is current content, and shouldnt need to be sync'd to accomodate the 6 months of playtime between the first fight in the singularity reactor and the trip youre soon to make.
