WHO ELSE GOT WRECKED BY THE "SAVING ESTINIEN" CUTSCENE AFTER FINAL STEPS?! Q.Q

That's the word I've been looking for. There was so much badass and awesome coming into the fight...and then that scene...

The moment when Estinien briefly reasserts control and begs us to kill him before Nidhogg can take control again had me on edge...then the wordless decision to run forward had me like "come on....come on...."...

And then her hand appeared, and I knew exactly who it belonged to, and I got misty eyed.

When his hand appeared, yeah, that was the moment that wrecked me.

There have been moments that hit me in the feels, but none quite like that.

I think my first moment would have to be Haurchefant's death, that took me by surprise, but the moment he yelled at you to get out of the way, I knew what was gonna happen. I was upset, but I didn't really get upset until Edmont broke down. Watching him drop his cane and just slowly get down on his knees sobbing.

I lost my dad, so this was really hard for me to watch.

At the time, my roommates went out and came back shortly after I finished. I walked up to them and said, "Can I have a hug?" and one of my roommates said, "Just finished the Vault, eh?" The other hugged me and I started sobbing and talking about Edmont's breakdown and how you tried to console him and he just says to leave him alone and let him mourn.

The other time was mentioned in my other thread, but when you see the gloved hand, I knew exactly who's it was. The feels kicked me right in the stomach, and then to make it worse, I saw the armored hand and knew exactly who's it was, too.

I was a mess, lol.

I thought it was actually Louisoix hand rather than Ysale's, I liked the idea of this being a metaphor for Aphinaud growing up into the man that Louisoix once was, but having it be Ysale and Hauchefaunt was still pretty epic and reminded me of the way that Zack and Aerith would come back in FFVII compilation

When I was about to queue up for the Vault, I informed FC mates and some made comments along the lines of "Prepare thy feels". But I paid no heed. I had seen plenty of "feels" moments in this game but... Hauchenfant's heroic death and his father's mourning. When I finished the chain of quests following the Vault, I said to my FC "You mother <censored>! Why didn't you guys tell me this happens?! D:" An FC mate who had logged on while I was in the dungeon said "You just did the Vault didn't you?"

When I did the Vault on a second alt, I thought that I was prepared. I had done this before, after all. Still sobbed like a wet sponge. Had snot bubbles and everything.

I fear I may have the exact same reaction 3rd time around.

Haurchefant's death was the worst ever.
I cried over it for 3 weeks and it only made me memorize him more and more until Kugane, it distracted since it no longer was connected to the temple knights..
But I remember until then it was hell to continue and when I saw Ayemeric hurt I kind of got pissed he might die since I bear love for him too.
Fortunately as it had a good ending - I was relieved.

I was reading also older post about Haurchefant having a thing for our chars. As female chars.
Since mine was always male and I newly discovere Hildibrand I could not help but think he was linked to the gaylords LOL


Now I am redoing the story and it still tugs my heart, though because I saw it coming I took plenty of selfies with Haurchefant LOL

There are three battles that are heavily significant in my character's lore. Livia, King Thordan, and Ilberd. These three are responsible for atrocities that Gemina took extremely personally.

Happier moments is the reunion of the Scions and return to the Rising Stones in late 3.x

The FFXI and FFXIV collaboration event left me in a pool of nostalgic tears

The depression from the Dravanians that ensued after Nidhogg's death.

I could go on for days. There's been so much.

When Gotsetsu Jumps in front of Zeno to protect Yotsuyu. :_:

Sure she was a villain, but she relates so much to me, sometimes good people turn rotten due to life circumstances. Her story and battle Reminded me of all the bullies I had in my life I just started balling when I saw all her tormentors pop in the battle.

ARR:
—Noraxia dying. ;-; Gets me every damn time for some reason.
—2.55 was also really emotional; not so much the stuff surrounding the Sultana, but the scattering of the Scions and our character becoming an outcast.
(There may be more, but it’s been a while since I’ve done ARR. Leveling some alts though so I’m sure there will be more.)

HW:
—Haurchefant dying. ;-;
—The scene afterwards with Edmond Fortempts lamenting his death. ;-;
—Final Steps of Faith: all the cutscenes leading up to that, and after it. Especially when Ysayle and Haurchefant appeared to help you and Alphinaud remove the Eyes. ;-;

SB:
—The scene in the Azim Steppe where Gosetsu reflects on the Dotharl and how they treat death.
—The scene before Doma Castle where Gosetsu shares with you and Hien his regrets.
—Gosetsu’s supposed death after Doma Castle collapses.
—Yotsuyu’s final moments. They were a fitting end to her story, and a fitting end to Asahi as well. >.>

Job quests:
—The entirety of DRK’s story, especially the Level 50 quest and the Level 68 and 70 quests. ;-; I really enjoy how personal in nature they are, and how they focus on our character as opposed to an NPC or an object.

Sidequests:
—“Speak Softly To Me”; I don’t know why, but this sidequest and its journal entry really struck something with me.

Funny moments:
—ARR Hildebrand; the end of HW Hildebrand was good, but I didn’t find it as great as the original ARR story.
—The Allied Beast Tribe Questions for both ARR and HW. Really looking forward to the SB one!
—The Namazu Beast Tribe storyline.
