I don't really want to write to the address for SE, but I'm pretty sure that the "Bluebird Earrings" is only a single Earring and should drop the "s" since it only shows up on the player's left ear, unless that's been changed since I won the prize a couple years ago.

It has been over twenty years since I last wrote a haiku. I was about 11 years old when I last wrote one. It reminded my 6th grade teacher of when he used to live in Connecticut. (Holy moly, I spelled that correctly on the first try!)

Sadly, I wish that I could edit my entry to make it more awesome, though I do understand why I cannot.

So I will provide the improved version of my ode to Ravana:

Alone he looks on
Heroes dance the waltz of war
Blood rains like petals

Will there be an EU version of this competition? I'm an English student in England, and creative writing is really all I'm talented at, so I was really upset to find out that this is North America only meaning that I couldn't enter, since I like writing haiku's.

Are Haikus not written in the correct format going to be disqualified?

And how is pronunciation going to work in terms of syllables?

Like, "HP" should read as two syllables since you hard pronounce both of the letters; some words can take either two or three syllables depending on pronunciation, as well.

Ah, I also forgot to mention that conjugated words also have different syllable counts. Just because "do not" is two syllables, it does not mean that "don't" is two syllables. It is all about how a word rolls off of the tongue.
